Well there goes me saying Fabia VRS

i hope you've tried to explain to her that buying a car on image is stupidly pointless, better to buy a car that suits her needs. Surely if she's a hairdresser (is that a mobile hairdresser?, i.e uses her car for business?)

Then surely as much as she'd like to look smart in a petrol glugging turbo car then surely a diesel would be more economical ?

Somehow i figure i'm not going to get anywhere with this line of advice but hey someone needs to say the alternate view..

I think the cooper S would be a good option, as she can pretty much have it in any colour! And most girls find them quite funky! If it was me, I'd probably go for one of the Seats! I would love to say I'd get the 182, but I can't say I have been impressed with the build quality of new renaults!

Thinking mans choice - Fabia vRS
Lairy image - Cupra 180 or Clio 182
Semi-Sensible with Proper Hairdresser effect - Ibiza FR in bright Red.

    Others to consider?

Alfa 147! - It's looks great and is very distinctive. Sophisticated
    image.
Audi A2 - It's not stupidily fast but looks the mutts nuts in a nice bright colour and proper alloys.

This is clearly as much image driven as anything else. My guess is she'd like something a little exclusive BUT crucially everyone (at least those who matter) must recognise it as a ice-cool motor.

    Boring Choice - Audi A3 / Golf
    Common Choice - Focus ST170
Perfect Image Choice - Polo GTI (New one about to be released)

Ok two off the wall suggestions :

    1. Polo Dune - Looks the part and is different with the right badge.

& the really really clever choice

    2. Lupo GTI - It's small, looks great, goes ridiculously well, will last, is cheap to run (big engine small car) and will chomp on many many other motors. It also looks GREAT in Red or Silver

    And for Hexusites

    The next Lupo :

Shall I add my "unbiased" opinion?

If she can drive.................................The clio 182 (of course)
    If she can't drive...............................The Mini
If she is a badge wh0re.... ..................The Mini
If she wants a sheep in wolfs clothing... The Pug 206 GTI

    Hope that helps

    What a good idea

But to be honest, there are too many floosy's driving them already, diluting the purist breed!!

The women never seem to follow the 'Alfa Wave (tm)' rules either

Lupo Gtis are awesome, but expensive. My other half bought the 16V Sport version 2 months ago, admittedly she's over the moon with it, whilst it might take 10 secs to get to 60, its excellent in the corners, feels superbly solid and well built, and very spacious (at the expense of rear passenger legroom and tiny boot - but who cares )

We got ours new for under 10k with metallic black paint and CD player (you don't get a CD player standard, even on the 14k Gti )

True enough Skii but when we're putting the Lupo up against cars like the Clio 182 it's running pretty cheap. Also as it's an older model now discounts should be forthcoming!

Clio 182 without a doubt. EVO rave about it all the time and it often embarresses much more expensive machinery
I own a PC that changes regularly, so I don't bother putting anything in here...
