Getting just about the 30 mark. Escort 1.4 Petrol. Actually its not bad considering how I thrash it!

Well, a more efficient engine is always welcome, but Im happy with what I have. Im hardly breaking the sound barrier with a 1.5dCi, but it goes easily fast enough for me, and being a student I appreciate the fuel economy.Originally Posted by Zak33
I would certainly get a diesel as my next car anyway.

I reset my fuel comp b4 I went to Plymouth the other weekend.
38 odd MPG on the way down there about 36 on the way back, then I reset it when I got back to see if the Phase chip and bits makde any difference, I'm at 22mpg at tho mo whihc is about where I expect it to stay tbh
I cba to work out mpg... but.. from £20 at 85.9p/L (Diesel) in the Landy I get roughly 150 miles.... and from £30 at 83.9p/L (Sans Plomb) in the Mini I get about 280 miles...
I don't mind the thirstiness of the Rover cos it's a toy car in the grand scheme of things and it gets fuel regardless... and I get most of me money back on the Mini anyway cos of business mileage.

ZX TD, averaging between 40-55mpg depending on whether it's a MK runabout or a stretch up the M1 going home.
More than happy with it for now When I feel the need for speed, I drag something else out to play
Had 49 mpg on motorway trip in my 1.1L 106. Used to get around 25 mpg on route from my previous flat, but that was a very short journey and REALLY stop-start. I think i was doing 150 quid on 20 pounds then, i think now its 200 miles on a 20 and thats about 34mpg through some hilly roads in the city.
Tough on mirrors, tough on the causes of mirrors.
just did a 900 mile round trip to france, got a little over 27 mpg, which i was very happy with, esp when you consider there are bricks out there more aerodynamic than my car I wasn't exactly hanging around either - though my friend in his 944 s2 got 29 mpg and was following me. hrrrm, his 3 litre more economic than my 2.2 :/
Nox
On a run I get about 30-35mpg at a constant 70-80mph. Once I hit the loud pedal though or drive around down that rapidly diminishes into something stupid like 15-20mpg.

Between 48 and 55MPG, depending on air con/town/motorway.
Car is a 2004 Focus Ghia 1.8TDCi.
35 - 40 unless its driven enthusiasticly when it drops like a stone

anywhere between 33 and 37mpg.
That's with Aircon on and fairly even mix of ragging it and motorway cruising at 85.
I know I could get more from it if I cruised at 70mph, but hey that's good enough for me, especially when I don't pay fuel.
Oh yeah, that's a RenaultSport Clio 182 2.0 16v Which tbh should be getting lower mpg figures for a 180bhp engine.
