they can up the points to a maximum of 6
The purpose of a fixed pen is to take the "lower" punishment and fine without the hassle / spend of going to court, by default you have rejected the fixed pen (although I know this wasn't your fault) depending on the judge they can up the points to what ever the maximum is for that crime (sp30 is 6)
This is however doubtful, and as said he you will probably get 3 and the normal fine - plus court fee's - this is even more likley if you turn up in court yourself to actually explain that you wanted to take the fine - but couldn't.

What I'm saying is, I'm quite able to judge what's a sensible speed and what isn't and I really have no need to check my speedo, I just prefer to watch infront.Originally Posted by Emzay

At 30mph I;m pretty sure I could see my speedo, rev counter, oil pressure, tempreature and check the fuel computer and look ahead.
