Really? Linky please...
Wow that would make a potent combination methinks.

I read about it in Practical Performance Car magazine, Dave Walker wrote about mapping a couple of them (and also wrote a feature on tuning the engine).Originally Posted by J4MES
Seems the conversion is done by Bernard Scouse.

The starter motor was shagged though, she had sat idle at a BM dealers in surrey for a few months and starting the engine after anything but a long run was a lottery.
Lets not talk about the mpg though..
Hmm. I was going to go for a 740 but I might have to test drive a 750 first in that case..... Probably a few years before I can afford one anyway. Still, my original plan also involved a manual box conversion and a couple of turbochargers.
Dangel what's a pelican diff ? I've got a peloquin diff on mine but i didn't think a real pelican would work...
On the subject of big audis my dad has got an s6 and it's a pretty boring drive, it goes well enough in a straight line and around corners but there is a total lack of any feedback, you could be doing a 30ft sideways drift and not even know about it, it just feels too safe to me and unispiring to drive....but then most new cars do these days don't they...
Anyway this thread is silly, my golf pwns all your mondeos
Fairy nuff And yes, that's why i drive what i do atm - it's a better car to drive than the same era Golf and there's yet to be something that tempts me away from it - i'd want the same level of toys but 4wd and 300+bhp on my next car. Of course, I might just add the power on the current one.. and you can get a 4wd leon in europe..Originally Posted by J4MES
20VT conversions are really common - i've seen it done in a lupo (with big power from an IHI), golf mk1/2 etc It's a very popular engine because it's so tuneable I guess.

Well spotted, and yes that's what i meant. For those who didn't know it's a torque biasing diff and is basically an American copy of the quaiffe (sp?) diff which they failed to get copyright on in the US. How do you find it btw? They feel really odd to begin with but make a huge difference in corners IMHO.
I only had it fitted recently along with a fidanza flywheel, 3.94 fd, helix clutch and vw (stroeve) motorsport shifter..... it feels really good, it did grip really well anyway but now rather than having to be progressive with the throttle you can just nail it much earlier in the corner, but you do need a good grip of the wheel now as it tends to tramline under braking and squirm a bit under hard acceleration, even little bumps can make the wheel pull pretty hard but thats ok with me. Another 'downside' is one of my driveshafts has just sheared off so i may need uprated ones.
Isn't gearbox failure on the TT another fault?. And Fox, i'm sure i've said this before but for a Beemer..Originally Posted by dangel
