BMW 530i Sport | Ford Mondeo Ghia X RSAP
Cars these days are run by 3 letter acronyms.
That's like ABS, Traction control and adaptive suspension all in one isn't it?

I've seen those wheels in the flesh and they look stunning. However the ones on this are nearly as good and much more common:

I'm with Rave.. I think the E38 is simply HOT It's MASSIVE... and FAST in V12 form
I've seen a couple... Including when I was stuck on the motorway for an hour and a half not moving cos of an accident, and a woman in an E38 V12 had flattened her battery by leaving the lights on Had to help find the terminals under the bonnet (battery in boot)
I would own one now, or in a couple of years if I could afford the running costs (unlikely). I don't need anything remotely that big or luxurious, it's totally unnecessary, but I just... want one.

hmmm the 7 Series too me is just not my style. If I was spending that kind of money I'd go to the other side of the autobahn and get myself an A8. Far supirior car in my opinon, vastly understated, the new ones look fab (the New 7 looks crap IMO) and there aluminium built so even the little engines produce great power.
Plus you get Quattro, and a well made car.
As for the 5 Series, hmmm, I like the Doughnut side lights but that's about it.

S8 coming out soon with an improved version of the V12 from the lambo.
You get really quattro at that point rather than TT 'quattro' don't you?
That Lambo V10 is also going in the RS6, now get the current RS6 Avant can give Supercars a good run for the money so what could the V10 do? *drools*

Yes, there's a big difference. The propper quattro is permanent 4x4 where as the quattro/4motion hadex clutch thing isn't The back wheels just kick in when the fronts slip as opposed to being permanently driven.
Never guess Audi had aquired part of cosworth would you?the current RS6 Avant can give Supercars a good run for the money
lol IMO the RS Line are gods in the motoring world, they get from a V8 what some struggle from a V10. The RS6 Avants 0-60 was under 4 Seconds for 2 tonnes of Family Wagon, now that's impressive. Plus it could be tuned to 670bhp and a top speed of 210mph!

And at some point Audi will realise that putting the front shafts behind the engine is ridiculous. Then they will develop the best car ever made.
It'll happen just after Porche move the 911 engine somewhere sensible.
I think that making the RS AWD is what makes it so great (power is 60% rear anyway) as it gives it such control at speed and such abilities to put it's power to the tarmac. I'd possibly be tempted by one that was switchable, but it was Quattro that made Audi what it is, I remember when Topgear put the RS4 against an M3. The M3 looked more dramatic sliding around, Rear Wheels flighting for Grip but the rock solid Audi was miles faster.

I saying AWD was the bad thing, it's just the way they lay it out.
Audi hang their engines well forward, to the point that the ones I've seen have the front props running behind it.
You look at my 4x4 (and many others) the engine sits further back and the front prop runs through the sump.
I support Audis ideas of placing the Engine, it means cabin space is maximiseed, so you get luxury as your doing 180 down the Autobahn, plus the greatest 4x4 Car of all time, the Audi S1 Quattro, had the engine there, and what a car it was.

I do love the proper quattro audis, don't get me wrong. I'm just saying that little design tweak would be the icing on the cake. I wasn't saying a 911 is rubbish (by any stretch of the imagination), but it's very much had to fight around the engine being where it is.
Audi have used a nice gear driven LSD system Front centre and rear which performs fantastically well. However, I also like the Ford and Subaru layout with viscous LSD rear and centre. Doesn't move the power around so quickly and precisely, but weighs a hell of a lot less.
Greatest 4x4 car of all time? I'd say the most legendary. I'm not sure I'd want a manual lock in centre diff on the tarmac
Erm..... I better mention mondeos to stay relevant.
The launch mondeo Si had a 4x4 system (shared with the RS2000). It was rubbish, almost like ford didn't want to be outdone by Vaux, the made a system far worse to prove the could.
