No, I bought a core 2 duo 3ghz E6850. Updated bios. Sold it and put q6600 quad in and it works! Yay. Took a while. Thanks for everyone's help!

Thumbs up Re: Problem with new self built system

Well, i got my rig built and yes there was an issue with no boot.
The Multiplier was automatically set to 8x. The FSB was automatically set to 450Mhz? I think it was wrongly configuring my CPU to my RAM...
I set the Multiplier and the FSB manually to 9x and 266Mhz. The RAM had to be Re-configured(underclocked) too! With a ratio of 1:2...
Once that was done, I saved my settings and then rebooted and it worked fine. Installed windows etc and managed to clock upto 3.4GHz until i had to upgrade the Bios to sort instability issues.
Now upto 3.6GHz with RAM @ 1600MHz 9-9-9-24! Gonna gun for 3.8GHz once i get a fluid cooled sysem installed and then maybe set the RAM to its rated 1800MHz 8-8-8-24
