Then perhaps we should club together and buy Taktak a cheap digital camera instead of using his phone.
Or his next project could be to integrate a digital SLR camera into his phone.
Nice work! TAKTAK lots of little fiddley bits i'm tempted to open up my lappy just to see its innards but you may have saved me from temptation i think??? Ohhh what the hell i can't help myself wheres my trusty screwdriver set *goes off to mooch in tool box* looking forward to seeing the finished mod...
Nice one TAKTAK
I'm going to have to see what other things you've done to your 701
I got a 901 in sept so far I've not done anything to it apart from last night, getting fed up with the shiney fingure print magent plastic I had a go at lapping it with 1200grit wet&dry to remove the shiney surface. (only a small area next to the touchpad)
Needs more experimenting
Wow, great job man
They've come down a bit in price, but I'm not surprised as the 701 is now seen as a bit old and outdated . . . not that it is that old, hardware update seem to be coming at a hellishly fast rate now.
Was the touch screeb from Fido? http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/fidohub/ or one of the hongkong ones?
PS from what I've read on http://forum.eeeuser.com so far Fido's touch screens are the best/most highly rated.
Just got to say what a brilliant idea, world have never though of doing this to any laptop but its gave me some good ideas for some mods that could come in handy thank you.
I just have to say...
eeeeettt esss finished
on new years day
no more piccys yet , but all the final step was, was stripping wires and twisting and taping together
and then following this: http://wiki.eeeuser.com/howto:kiddsh...enunderxandros
ish, as some parts didn't work for me properly so i had a few (simple) extra steps (but it is a VERY good guide and VERY easy to follow, i tip my hat to the guy)
I'm happy
(i will post piccys of 'the bulge' when i get chance)
would it be possible to do this to a Samsung NC10 on Windows XP SP3?
nice work aswell TAKTAK, looks tricky though, was it?
it's possible to do on anything
and not at all, if you get one of the better kits, they are better sized and fit easier, and even then all i have done in essence is taken the webcam out of action and replaced it with a touchscreennice work aswell TAKTAK, looks tricky though, was it?
with no soldering or anything required, the controller board has just been taped in
TBPH i was expecting it not to work, hence why i have put it off for so long (over 2 months of doing nothing...)...
mainly because of all of the negativity over anything that wasn't two certain kits
