Well, here are some pics of my latest rig, it's still far from finished, but it's up and running just nicely.
As you can see from the pics my camera is pants, it's a 10mp Kodak V1003, and whenever I try taking images without the flash to show off all the case lighting the pics come out blurry.
I need to get a mini tripod and a decent DSLR for taking professional images as these pics don't do the rig any justice at all.
I've also done a few other little things since this pics were taken like tidy up the SATA cable that twirls round the res as I thought it looked stupid!!!
It loks a little bit more tidier now.
I actually put all this together for a different thread but I thought I may as well post it here as well.
WHS
1 x 1TB and 2 x 1.5TB WD Green Drives in Hotswap Trays
Another 1TB USB Disk (for backups) and a 500GB USB Disk (for more backups )
2 x 1GB Corsair XMS Pro DDR2
1 x AMD X3 720
420W Tagan 2Force PSU (none modular)
Asus M3N78-VM mATX Motherboard
Lian-Li PC-V350B
Rackmount 3Com Gbit Switch
Looks really dusty under the flash!
As my server is not in easy site of my workspace I like to have some way to monitor it so I use an Alphacool USB display on my desk, this gives me up to the second info on bandwidth in and out, disk usage, CPU load, HDD temps, CPU / motherboard temps
And I also have user login logs sent to my blackberry to keep an eye on who is logging in when and from where.
Remote login from within the network
Remote login from outside the network
I use WOL with WMC plugins to send the magic packet and wake the server, I can also wake it via my routers web interface if I want to login from outside the network. 15 mins of no activity eg no active logins or data stream and it sleeps again.
If anyone is interested the cooler is a Scythe Ninja Mini and it can only be fitted once the board is inside the case (A total nightmare)

Thats a cool looking bit of kit as a server you've got there mate I keep thinking about building a server but I've got two porblems with that, firstly I don't have any hardware left over which I can rely on to work for more than 5 minutes and I'd struggle for somewhre to put it.
WOL is pretty easy to setup
install this plugin on your MediaCentre
http://mediacenterguides.org/node/200
get the MAC of your server's network card and add it to the settings.xml file
setup your network card for magic packetCode:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <settings> <macaddress>xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx</macaddress> <port>7</port> <popup>true</popup> </settings>
and away you go, when you load mediacentre this will also launch the WOLPacket and send the magic packet to start your WHS (or what ever it is you want to start)
