Why won't your copy of Fable 2 play???
Why won't your copy of Fable 2 play???
I doubt they would notice but just change the whole console/send an already refurbished one, but he obviously will have to pay for his games from now on.

Nope, he's just really tight fisted and bought a Japanese version of it which is no doubt possibly region locked or some reionalising issues
Haha, "nice work"? Hope you get a replacement soon.
I bought Fable 2 from Amazon and it game from an Amazon seller. It was only when I started to look through the manual I discovered I couldn't read Chinese. Its supposedly an region-free version and is marked NTSC-J.
It played fine on my old 360 but keeps freezing up on the new one.
To the person who said I'd flashed it, or whatever, (expletive removed by moderator) I'm not software thief.
Anyone who uses blu-ray as the arguement to get a PS3 over an Xbox is an absolute retard.
Can i re-iterate what many may have already said, or if they haven't, should have done.
THE XBOX and PS3 ARE BOTH GAMES CONSOLES AND SHOULD BE JUDGED ON THIS MERRIT ALONE!!!
And if you do that, the Xbox360 is by far the better console..

Bunjiweb, I don't think that's entirely accurate. Both consoles are made to do more, both state that they do more, and both are equipped with tailor-made features designed to do more.
The Xbox 360 is a games console, DVD player, media extender, and more.
Similarly, the PS3 is a games console, blu-ray player, media extender and more.
I'd agree with you in regards to the 360 being a better games console, and indeed a better media extender (for those who enjoy MCE, at least), but the PS3 does have the upper hand when playing movies from a disc - be it blu-ray or DVD.
Well...if you put it in capitals it must be true!!! As discussed previously, you judge what you buy on what you want to use it for. The blu-ray is factor for some, but not others.
People can argue till they're blue in the face about this, but each persons expectations will differ so its pointless.
I love my xbox (not in that way..) as it's just so bloody easy to use, especially for streaming it's just a breeze.
Still makes a touch more noise than I'd like after being on for a while but when I played on my mate's PS3 I thought it was noiser than I'd expected so I guess it's a moot point.
As for reliability things aren't as bad as with release day consoles & I've not heard of any Jaspers failing yet (as not many about!)
I think people use the term 'RROD' for any 360 failure whether related to the main 'overheating' (?) problem or not. I'd still be interested in % comparison of failure rates for 360 vs PS3 though!

My 360 hasn't failed but my ps3 has.
I prefer my ps3 but for some reason I just don't know why, I got it for £200 so it's not a price thing as my 360 was only marginally less.
Still this isn't one of those threads so I'll stop this now.
So I just put my brand new copy of Fable 2 in my Xbox and it vibrated the hell out of my machine >_<
Horrible buzzing noise constantly as the disc was spinning.
I know you can install to hard drive but with a 20gb HDD I've only got enough space for 1 game at a time.
I managed to subdue the buzzing noise by putting a folded up piece of paper on the edge of the drive tray so I could install it without my eyeballs vibrating about in my head.
Anyone else had this?
I have a launch console and the noise of the drive is ridiculous. I can't use my xbox to watch dvds or anything, because even with my tv sound turned up high, the noise of the xbox is still far too distracting. Kind of ruins the whole experience for me. Wish my tv had a headphone socket so I could use my wireless headphones.
I had something like this before with a launch console but that was on all games, this one seems to only do it on a select few..
Fable 2 being the worse of them.
It's completely unplayable from disc, even full volume on my TV doesn't mask it.
I'm going to try it with some newer titles over the christmas period and if it does it with them then I'm sending it to MS, it's a brand new console.
