I just got a new 360 and it's making a terrible humming noise constantly (it's not the fan or drive) do you reckon this warrants sending it away for repair? I've got 2 other's so not having it here isn't an issue. It's a week old! -pats his baby-

Unlucky Dave! Mine died on November 24th, UPS came and collected it on the 27th, and I got a new replacement console delivered yesterday.

Thing that annoys me the most is that the 360 is just so bloody good to use. I have a PS3, a DS Lite and a PC, yet, whilst the 360 was away, I just didn't enjoy/fancy playing anything else. Glad it's back now.

Nope, I know. The only thing is at current prices you could buy two 360 consoles for the price of a single PS3 & Controller.

UPS have gotta come pick it up - Mate of mine when a similar thing happened was able to get them just to switch it over, but seems they can't do that anymore, Microsoft was getting too many back that weren't faulty apparently.

Well, because its the best there is?

It's the best gaming console at the moment and its also the best value for money media centre.

Guarantees have all been extended to 3 years also due to the RROD issue.

Microsoft have also just released the "Jasper" model which supposedly fixes the issue, hopefully they will start sending them out as warranty replacements.

I've had a 360 since it first launched several years ago, my first one, a premium, lasted from the day I got it to the day I sold it (on HEXUS actually ), my second one, an elite lasted from the day I got it, till about a year later, when it RRODd on me, I was without it for 9 days while it was fixed free of charge.

The failure rate of a 360 is a total cock-up, as I've said many times myself, but really, the 360 is still BY FAR the best choice of the consoles at the moment. Do the maths, read the reviews, play the games, and this much becomes obvious. (IMHO btw, I don't want the PS3 peeps, with their tracksuits and baseball caps on, getting uppity PS3 is good as well)

Even Parm says so, and he's... got a blue forum name, he's THAT cool.

Got a 360 and love it. Going to get a PS3 somepoint in the next few weeks as I want Drakes Fortune and the Resistance games. Also good for BluRay
