i dont think forza had those kinds of restrictions? ok what if we just choose say up to 4 cars you can choose from that offer similar performance?

The performance index, and the classes based on that are what forza uses to (not always perfectly) group cars - eg anything 300-400 points could be a B class. So everyone tunes their car (with all parts counting, not just power gain/weight reduction) as close to the 400 point limit as they can get, and the cars magically turn out pretty equal.

I will have a look around and see if anyone has a method for something similar on gt yet.

Edit: Dont suppose you know if there is a "limit by money spent on it" option?

Treated myself with a new telly/ps3/gt5 this xmas (it is a blue ray player after all) - have been enjoying it quite a lot. Have not read all of this thread, but saw some negative comments about graphics - I've tried the photo mode and have been quite surprised (pleasantly) with the results:




As for choice of cars. I suggest someone dons the Stig's outfit and goes through a list of similar vehicles on a Top Gear test track. You then look at the times and allow a certain number of simple mods (like air filter) to even out a little more. So if a car is slower by 2 seconds allow driver a filter and an exhaust mod to even out the score.

You may want to pick a category in advance for each event. Say 200hp FF cars. Get Stig-clone to do his work. Publish the list. Then go play.

Just an idea.

Don't suppose there is a way to "pause" a championship and get back to it later? Some of the later ones are quite long 6x20laps and would be easier to do in stages.

I am sure you can't, but maybe I am missing something.

Obviously I understand I can just pause the game or wait before starting next round. But I'd like to turn the ps3 off in between sessions on different days.
