you had just become visible in the distance too

apart from that one guy teleporting around at the start it was pretty good up until that point

edit: was having some accelerator issues too with the DFPRO (couldn't get full power, power jumping around when pressing pedal) opened it up and it has half a cats worth of hair in it

    and a long deceased maggot

i shall hoover and clean it tomorrow and see if that sorts it, otherwise i may need to get a DFGT ordered

yea it dc quite a few others too.

i highly recomend you join avf though so you can join in the conversation.

    below here is my impresisons:

Well done CAS you was brilliant! what was your fastes lap time? mine was 1:38.

Im quite happy with my performance. i was consistent in most of the race putting in lap times of around 1:39's and my consistancy throughout the race earned me a 4th place finish.

I qualified at 3rd at the begining but had a terrible start as my gear got stuck on 3rd! i think everyone passed me on the starting grid and was last comming up to the first corner when i saw loads of people breaking late and took advantaghe and slot right back in 9th i think i was.

i then overtook Madduck in lap 2 or 3 i think to go 7th and was pretty much racing on my own from lap3 to lap 13/14 putting in 1:39's each time and gaining closer and closer to c225 and raging1337(who both looked like they was having a great dual so please explain what happened to you two!)

i then overtook raging1337 and then next corner he was right on my rear end trying overtake me! was nervy stuff then but managed to stay calm and composed and increased my distance from him.

with about 2-3 laps to go i was right on c225 rear end and in the final corner of lap 19 iwas side by side with him but oversteered and did a 360 and lost the advatage to overtake him i then slowing tried to gain on him on the final lap but thanks to the blooming 20 second countdown it ended me finish behind him when i was maybe a few meteres away from him

PD really need to extend the count down timer because 20secs is farrr too short. at least 2mins i reckon especially in a long race like this where its likely the front runner will lap someone. FM3 had the ability to change the countdown length and even disable it so the race ends once all cars finish the race.

Anyways that was the best online racing i had in this game so far. it was brilliant! perfect length time of 30-40mins is ideal for epic races such as these.

once again well done CAS. you did brilliantly.

To all those who missed out or got dc. want to try and organise another session tomorrow night? 10pm start? same rules but different track and car?
at one point i thought you was right behind me when i overtook you but it was a tail ender near me. i was wondering where you was though. when did you get DC? what lap?

    Re: GT5 stuff

Yup enjoyed it a lot, done a few forza2 online enduros before and this has the same feel to it. shame we all have to use the same car for the sake of balance right now, but hopefully that will change in the future if they add some kind of performance points thing. then we can get a bit of variety going.

apart from the one lagging guy and the disconnect the connection was buttery smooth as well, which is a good sign.

    Re: GT5 stuff

How does the driving aids level thing work in gt5 multiplayer - can you set it at the lobby level? (Ie, are these kind of races for wheel users only?)

all that stuff can be be disabled by the room leader if they wish - but im not sure that makes it wheel only, most people leave ABS enabled (including the races we are talking about here, i cant quite remember but i think you can choose AT/MT too) and i wouldn't use any other aids even with a pad.

which aid specifically do you think you need?

I don't know - don't have a PS3 yet, but if the gamepad was effectively useless for good multiplayer then I'd avoid the game. AT is probably the main one thanks to a slightly duff finger, but ABS would be a help as well. If they are enabled when host is set to all aids disabled then no problem (j.o.s.h.1408 said all aids: off a few posts ago).

Did anyone buy thier copy of gt5 from play?

I preorder mine from them, just wondering if they got the exclusive stealth car or how do you claim it.

this, because Forza 4 is a completely unknown quantity at this stage, and Forza 3 is a bit dump really.

if Forza 4 end up like Forza 2 though.. will make things interesting.

Roboxrr4: yes, but the special edition, which annoyingly didn't come with any stealth cars

    pedals are fixed whew!

    Re: GT5 stuff

Play are probably waiting for PD to patch the Stealth Cars in so you can reclaim them.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
