I'm glad you put T2 #1 MuTTy_Hc, I can't believe people don't rate that film more highly. 2 hours and 27 minutes of this incessant chase with an almost inevitable outcome, Shame the 3rd instalment was poo and lost the feeling of the chase so much.

    Anyway my favourite films are:

    Terminator 2
    Casino
    Goodfellas
    The Cube
    Platoon
    A Clockwork Orange
    The Shining
    Full Metal Jacket
Space Odyssey 2001 (infact all of Kubricks films which I have seen)

The best film ever though (well it’s two parts but based on one book)
    The Godfather 1 & 2 – a masterpiece.

The list could go on and on, I’m yet to watch city of god which is ment to be superb!

Can't really think of anything that hasn't been posted already but an honerable mention should go to BTTF - pure nostalgia in a can if you're an 80's kid

Fight Club is right there on my list, along with Donnie Darko, Se7en and Alien/s - like my dark films!

I saw Spiderman in a list somewhere...tho its only an opinion I was confused.

    Anyways...

    1)Aliens
    2)Terminator 2
    3)Jurrasic Park I
    4)Full Metal Jacket
    5)The Blues Brothers
6)Clear And Present Danger + All The Tom Clancy Series...
    7)Sleepy Hollow
    8)Goldeneye - Best Bond Film
    9)American Psycho
    10)The Matrix

I didnt stick LOTR in cos elfs, wizards, goblins, orcs...just remind of high school weirdos and warhammer. I coudlnt take it seriously. And it pissed my that the third installment would just NOT END QUICK ENOUGH!!

i dunno how anyone can put saving private ryan in their top 10, okay the beach landings were really well done but it's a terrible film with a pathetic story, totally unrealistic throughout.

the guy who thought Apoc Now was boring. Obviously you don't understand art and the fact that Apoc Now is the greatest depiction of the Vietnam war. Not for its war scenes, no put those aside. But for what war does to men, and also that all men have a dark side in them, they all have evil lurking beneath the skin.

Coppola took alot from the book, Heart of Darkness for that movie.

    It is a true masterpiece.

As for SPR, yes its a very good war movie. But the actual story is far fetched and not believable. It's biggin up America once again, when we ALL know they wouldn't sacrifice men for 1 solitary man.

The Thin Red Line is amazing, once again it delves into mens hearts, trying to understand what war does to them, instead of simply showing people getting killed.

Not that I think movies like that suck, I don't. Platoon is brilliant. I love war films.

As for Gary Oldman, hes one of the greatest actors in the world, for pure acting ability.

Also to the guy who disliked Apoc Now, you have a wide range of movies that you like, a few are rather good. But you bring it down with Sweetest Thing and O Brother Where Art Thou (even tho I rather liked that one, it has Clooney in it :\)

At least not everyone loves the god damn LOTR trilogy, christ people should stop bigging that up. Yes its a good popcorn movie, not a masterpiece.
