The video is in German but indicates they generated 30 jpegs at the same resolution as the RAW files. They used sRGB and 87% quality for the jpegs.Overall, we have converted 30 raw image files from a Nikon D800 with a total size of 1.23 GiByte.
It appears LR does not really use HT and core scaling is poor above 4 cores. It wouldn't surprise me the huge L3 caches on the highest ranked chips are why they are faster.
Edit!!
I posted this in the OcUK photo section, and a number are trying to find fault with the review probably since the AMD chips are faster than certain CPUs like the Core i7 920.

The 6800K does alright - just about equal with a Phenom II X4 980 - so the lack of L3 cache doesn't seem to be a huge issue. That said, there are 3 generations between those chips, so perhaps we should be sad that the 6800K isn't soundly beating the Phenom II. It definitely says something that I genuinely looked at the chart and thought that the 6800k matching a Phenom II was a decent showing....
Just saw this A10 7850K system on HUKD:

Its actually quite good value considering the parts used. PSU is a lowish end FSP though.

It looks like VIA is introducing a competitor to BT and Jaguar:

Edit!!
It appears a 970 based AM3+ mATX motherboard did exist:

That news about VIA is interesting! Their Quadcore parts also looked fairly interesting but never seemed to make it into pretty much anything you could actually buy. But then again, while the Nano architecture was certainly impressive and was very competitive with Bonnell, it didn't compete too well with Bobcat in terms of performance or efficiency. So by the time Quadcore arrived, the market had moved on from when Nano was first released.
I don't know what the author of that article is babbling on about in the fear-mongering 'opinion' part!
So, that would be: VIA. Since no-one else has or is likely to get an x86 license. And one small competitor re-entering a market they previously had a higher market share in, is really going to harm competition at the high end.If nearly every other company is starting to enter the x86 market with low end processors
Yep, that opinion piece is pretty dire. ARM is eating share at the bottom, I think at the top end we are just seeing churn from companies buying new machines because the old ones are 3-4 years old, out of warranty and into hence written off and need replacing. This sounds to me like VIA are simply doing a regular refresh and so keeping much where they were before.
If they start turning up in cheap Chromebooks I might raise an eyebrow.
Edit to add: Did they ever sort out the S3 drivers? Not used them for years.

There seems to be a new 970 based motherboard for around £66 from MSI:
http://www.dabs.com/products/msi-970...m_content=AW00
http://www.msi.com/product/mb/970_GA...#hero-overview
It not only looks nice but has 8X/8X Crossfire and even upgraded audio.
Hopefully,it will mean better quality VRMs too as it appears to be an 8 phase job.
