Bungie have just updated their front page; apparently there's a delay in the release that's only effecting those of us who got into the Beta via Crackdown (ie everybody).

They hope it will be a short delay.

I can see a "oh oops it doesn't work with crackdown we messed up, here you go all XBL gold members can have it..." situation possibly happening, which would annoy lots of people who bought Crackdown just got the Halo 3 beta.

Right well this is a fine mess... I mean they didn't have about 3 months to test the Crackdown download button....

I'm going to go get some food and hope that whoever tripped over the powerlead thats going into the download server reconnects it soon.

This really is a boob since this was one of crackdowns main selling points, yet i was pleasently surprised to find i actually liked the game

According to the Bungie forums, the Xbox Live helpdesk is quoting 24 hours before we can play Halo 3.
