Well, my copy of Crysis is in the post.....hopefully, itll be there when I get home today
Btw if you wanna increase the damage system for the weapons so that enemy targets dont need like half a magazine to kill. Open up GameData.pak with WinRAR and Go to Scripts\GameRules, Extract SinglePlayer.lua, and increase these settings on the DamagePlayerToAI then repack back in the .pak file and have fun
Hell and Fire was spawned to be released.

And faith in the postal service
Already got my copy!! NICE!!
Do Crytek even want to sell any copies of Crysis to the average gamer??
The demo plays like a pile of crap even on low settings with an X1900gt at 1024X768.
I have 4gb of RAM and an overclocked Core2 which runs at 2.9ghz.
Bioshock ran really well BTW at 1280X800 on high settings.
Sure enthusiasts will probably have a better graphics card but most people will probably have something no better - usually a 7600GT,7900GS or their ATI alternatives. Some people may even have an 8600GT.
I thought that gaming systems from two years ago were meant to be able to run Crysis OK. What a joke!! When compared to Crysis at low settings Bioshock on high is better for me regarding graphics and yet Bioshock ran much better. Go figure!
It seems unless you have an 8800GTS,8800GT,2900XT or 3870 you are screwed at the moment.
How many people are going to spend 140-170 quid plus on a graphics card every year??
That is where i disagree with you. I have to talked to people who work in some of the larger gaming shops and it seems more people are starting to return games since their new systems cannot run them. As time goes on more and more people are going to get disillusioned with pc gaming. To many games are being release with bugs and rubbish driver support for more and more people to be bothered.
If you think that 150 to 200 quid is not much for card it either show that you are an enthusiast or have too much money.
Most people I know have got fed up with the cost of pc gaming and shifted to consoles like the Xbox360 or even the PS3. Sure the pc games will look better but most people consider things like gamplay to be more important.
Look at Half Life 2 to see how things should be done properly with regards to scalability - Valve sold alot of copies if you had not noticed EVEN WITH STEAM and the need to have a broadband connection too.
Also look at the following survey of a million gamers in August of this year:
Single core CPU still rules the gaming world
Single core still rules the gaming world - The INQUIRER
Quotes:
"1GB of memory accounts for 45.02% of all users, while only 23.81% own 2GB of system memory. "
"Surprising number is GeForce 8800 series, capturing the hearts of 41,889 gamers (4.32%)"
"Shader Model 3.0 is used by 52.10% of all users, while Shader Model 2.0 is used by 23.84% (predominately ATi hardware)"
"....76.06% of all users own a single-core processor, predominately Intel Pentium 4."
Even in the latest survey from Valve this month which covered only 63000 gamers around 20% had DX10 cards of ANY sort and 0.5% had SLI or Crossfire setups!! Only under 4% had quad-core processors too.
Valve hardware survey shows Vista slowly gaining ground with gamers
Also the fact that the Crytek CEO stated that Crysis would be able to play OK on gaming computers two years before it was release is utter nonsense as stated here:

In what way am i wrong? Clearly they're middle market cards - they're marketed as such.
Relativity - if high end costs £300+ then what's a £150quid card by comparison? I'm an enthusiast for sure
...and that's what consoles are for - hassle free gaming for the masses on a budget. That's never really changed.
Broadband is commonplace. Sooner or later devs have to push the envelope - far cry did that originally and caused just as many howls of derision but still looks minty today. Yes, crytek could of made it scale better by making it look like ass on old systems, but they made their own choices - just as you can by either buying the game, not buying the game or just waiting till hardware is cheap enough for your own budget. Visually this game is stunning - because it's forward-thinking. It runs like ass on DX10 (even on high end systems - 11fps for me) because it's built to scale upwards more than down. Perhaps that's a bad choice but i'm guessing they'll sell a lot of copies nonetheless, and probably licence the engine on the back of those stunning visuals.
I don't really disagree with you - and i've no want of an arguement - but at the end of the day nobody's forcing you to buy it. If you think it's crap because of how it performs for you then that's a perfectly valid viewpoint. Nonetheless I think a lot of 8800GT's are being sold right now because of this game - perhaps validating nVidia's investment all the more.
Broadband was not that commonplace in the UK in 2004 when HL2 was released - it was great having unlimited 4mb connection back then.
The fact that I am annoyed about is that the Crytek CEO blatently lied in the interview.
If he had said "you need the latest hardware to run Crysis" it would have been fine.
I only hope that the full game will run better than the demo or there is better driver support for the game soon.
I do not also care about running the game at uber high resolutions and settings.XGA or WXGA would do me fine at even low settings if the game looked OK and ran reasonably smoothly.
I will soon find out though!
But you don't need the latest hardware to run Crysis
It runs on my two year old computer (that was made up of non-top of the range parts at the time).
What are the specs BTW? Also what are drivers you are using too?? I run my X1900gt overclocked to X1950pro speeds when gaming. Vista or XP too? I tried both and XP was slightly better.

Yet my computer cannot play smoothly at XGA and low settings!!
Did Crytek's PR company write those specs??
