COD4 is literally nothing more than a corridoor shooter. The graphics are good because they were very clever about optimising. There isn't ever that much to see, so what you do see is high res textures.
I recommend COD4 because it seems that all he wants is good graphics and blowing people up in a fast paced way.
It's about gameplay dude. Cool graphics does not a good game make. Much like newest does not necessarily equal best. Some, probably most, of the best game experiences ever are among the older titles; if you've missed out on them I suggest you at least try them - you might be surprised.

Dungeon Keeper and theme park are the only reason i have an old p233 with win 98 sat in the corner those two game are awesome.
