To be honest its a bit stupid really.
Play a small map and put it on easiest difficulty... practise that way. I was the same at first

You are not serious surely?. Easy 1 on 1 on a small map is a 20minute affair.

The computer doesn't cheat unless you put it on unfair. I'd hate to think what i'd do to you if I played you online Jay

I can't quite cope with 4 lots of 2 unfair computers grouped vs me yet, but its getting closer.

Best RTS game imo since dawn of war, as for balance, the defense stuff is the same both sides. You play with what you got its the same for everyone.

Re: Sins of a Solar Empire

Errr..... Why can't I find this game on Amazon,Game or Play.com?! Gamestation has it but says TBC next to it with a release on 1/2/08?!

Looks really good but I can't find it any where online... and I like to actually buy something physical rather than download it...

Guess I'll try look next time I'm in a shop if I remember... Unless someone wants to aid my apprently bad searching abilities?

IIRC it's not available for retail purchase in this country, only downloadable from the official site or steam.

When I checked about a month ago, they couldn't find an Europian publisher. Check their forums again to see if that situation has changed or not.

Made a little video of Sins.

Nothing fantastic and not a huge amount of battles, just to show people what it looks like really.

Overall, pretty good (apart from the Enya soundtrack ) - would have liked to have seen some battles in from ships in first person perspective (if there were then sorry/ignore as I'm cooking a curry whilst 'puting) and perhaps a bit more action but pretty good nonetheless
My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

thanks. What music do you think would have gone better? I was looking for a sound that was juxtapose to the actual image. So a battle image with a serene sound.

Re: Sins of a Solar Empire

Sorry, I was referring more the fact that it was Enya as opposed to the contrast of temp/tone to the epic nature of the space battle - being a former retail sales muppet I was subjected to too much of that! The music is fine in my opinion and the timing of event (warp and explosion for example) to chord change is bang on.

It depends on what you're trying to get across to your audience. I wouldn't class SoaSE a leisurely affair as the music would suggest - with its scope it can be frantic at times as I'm sure you're well aware - that didn't come over in your piece.

    Right, back to the cooking!
