    Re: GTR EVO thread

Never noticed this thread before, I've been playing this on and off for the past few months with a Thrustmaster F430 steering wheel.

It's an extremely good game, if somewhat limited in scope, but it is really immersive.

No point in playing drunk, lol, you have to really concentrate. Very enjoyable.

Having said that, I am a bit crap at it, but I try

The mods can be unpacked into your steamapps directory (under your userid subdirectory). Usually each mod has a readme or default directory structure that supports this in steam so you need to check. For more details just head over to the NoGrip forums.

    Re: GTR EVO thread

Oh really, look forward to it! I just hope it doesn't go the way of Grid and it retains at least some of the realism Sony Liverpool had going, form what i remember they were laser scanning tracks etc so hopefully simulation will remain the priority!

If realism is the goal your wanting, Iracing are going to have the Williams F1 09 car in the not too distant future.
Iracing's laser scanned tracks look amazing. So if codemasters are doing that, it should be good.

    Re: GTR EVO thread

Ok, I've downloaded the mod unpacked it into my Valve/Steam/Steam Apps/User Name/race 07 folder - where is it?

Do I open GTR Evo or Race 07 and/or does it make any difference?

And is it just multiplayer or single player as well?

Sorry to be a numbnuts but any pointers apreciated.

Should be GTR evo. I can get it opening GTR evo, and race on. But not tried with Race 07. With steam though it might be different, i install all my mods on to the offline version.
Game although is a league edition, will run perfecly fine offline with AI.

All files go in the RACE07 directory you might need to create. So you should end up with a GAMEDATA etc. subdirectory there e.g.
    \Steam\steamapps\<username>\race 07\GameData

Once this is done the extra cars, tracks etc. should appear in game as extra choices

This is same whether you also have GTR Evo, Race ON expansions. It does not matter which you open as it is the same game just different coloured menus.
