MW2 review embargo, anyone know when it's lifted?

Just wondering if anyone knows when will we start to see the reviews coming though?

Living and dying laughing and crying
Once you have seen it you will never be the same
Life in the fast lane is just how it seems
Hard and it is heavy dirty and mean

Not a clue, if I were a betting man my money would be on the 6th of November though.

I have a feeling we won't see one till release. The mags would get it for october issues and they haven't and the usual suspects still have nothing about it. With no demo planned I would put money on no reviw till launch day or a day or two before so pre orders can't be cancelled. I stopped my 360 order. Gonna wait till its cheap as chips for the pc.

Re: MW2 review embargo, anyone know when it's lifted?

Some people (read: pirates) are already 'reviewing' it as we speak.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Re: MW2 review embargo, anyone know when it's lifted?

Given the hype and scale of pre-orders I suspect the embargo will be the release day itself, just incase there are negative reviews. I hope not - my pre-order is still in the balance.

Any PC gamer with self respect won't be buying the piece of crap.
If you are so desperate to play the Single Player it will be on torrents soon enough, as the multiplayer is completely gimped.

    Roll on the new Battlefield.

I'm sorry that it's you I'm directing this at, nothing personal but this reflects my views regarding all the moaning about MW2 & it just so happens your post was the most recent I've come across

If you don't like it don't buy it (but seriously, don't condone torrenting it either)

Not everyone plays MP (I can't stand it) so for me and I'm sure tens of thousands more like me who don't play MP the whole dedicated server thing is a none issue.

I will be looking at this game strictly for the SP campaign as I did with CoD4 (which was very good but still over-rated) so, strictly speaking, SP-only players will be 'ripped off' even more than MP players as we're not even using half of the game but you don't hear us moaning

If you are silly enough to shell out over £30 on a 6hr SP game go for it, most people won't though and as such will just pirate it, we will then have to listen to Activision/Infinity Ward bitch and moan about piracy hurting sales, blind to the fact that it was them that shot themselves in the foot.

Oh and I have no intention of buying it, I've already been a beta tester for FIFA 10 this year and have no intention of paying for the privilege of lagging my way through IWNet.

revol68, I would edit out the torrenting bit. If a mod see it you will get a warning

Have to agree, the PC multiplayer is pretty ridiculous conceptually, and it has turned from a game that would of been on my auto buy list to one I'll play if I can be bothered to download of borrow a copy.

    Big shame.

I'm not condoning or condemning it, I'm pointing out the actual facts of what will happen, if a mod wants to take issue with that they can.

This game will be pirated like mad and we will then have to listen to Infinity Ward/Activision cry and bitch about their poor little lost sales, despite the fact it is a situation entirely of their own making.

well, ill still be at GAME at midnight to get it for the PS3 - reason to book a day off work etc.
i just refuse to condemn a game until i've played it, especially this.

but at a personal guess; i fail to believe the SP campaign is a mere 6 hours

Maybe I am misreading this, but this sounds like you are suggesting that SP only people should pirate it. Just giving you a heads up as I have been warned for less lol

Well if you are prepared to play FPS on a console I'd imagine you will have little to complain about, it's not like consoles have ever had anything better.

Infinity Ward should have some respect for the people who put them where they are today, namely PC gamers.

Well all I'm saying is that I'd rather be a pirate than give money to Infinity Ward for shafting PC gamers.

I'd of course rather have bought the game with dedicated server support and also the lean function.

Actually I just heard the PC version has mouse support and I'll be able to change some graphics settings, so I'm swung right, surely Infinity Ward much like the ambassador is truly spoiling us.
