Indeed I prefered DS1 to the rest of them but 2 wasn't that bad.

I started Skyrim (heavy modded) again on Saturday - spent most of the weekend getting 1 shotted by dragons and guys with big swords... some of those deadly / realistic combat mods are extremely punishing early game

If I don't like DS2, then I'll just chuck it away, same price as a beer anyway. Unlikely that DS3 will work well enough on my PC.

I was going to buy XCOM in Steam's 2K sale, but accidentally put birth year as 2013,so was disallowed for being too young. Realised too late that I could have bought it through a Web browser, rather than Steam store.

It warms you at checkout that not avail outside the US but just put in a random US address (I use a hostel that I stayed at in Miami) and it goes through and gives you the steam code. Great deal for £6~

Also if you just quit steam and open it again it will ask you for your birthdate again..

Still Skyrim but also thought I would have a "quick look" at Prison Architect last night... then it was silly a clock in the morning, I was hungry, eyes hurt and really needed the toilet... been a while since that happened to me

I have started playing through CinemaWare Wings on my Amiga again, what a great game, reading the journal entries before each mission with the French Acordian music is simply awesome, you feel kind of connected when you read about a squad mate dying. If you die on it and you create another pilot (starting with 0 stats again) then it carries on from the date your previous pilot died so no matter what you will get through to the end of the game / WW1.

I got a few other games delivered from The Retro Cavern for the Amiga & C64.

C64 stuff :

4 Most Horror - Nosferatu, Mr Weems, Rocky Horror & Neil Android
Druid - Just need Druid 3 (Warlock) now to complete the set
River Raid - Classic vertical shooter
Outrun - Arcade conversion with awesome music, playable but not as good as Power Drift
Mutant Monty - Awesome early arcade style adventure

Wings has been getting the most time lately but the other things I have got I have played a bit. Its been fun revisiting some of those old titles after replacing the missing ones from my collection.

On PC I have been clocking up a fair bit on Shadow Man which I bought on day of release from GOG, played through it a good few times now and it is equally as good now as it was back when released.

If anyone is interested in the retro gaming side of things like me I would take a look where I got my stuff from as his prices are really good and you can just buy instead of having to fight for stuff on eBay. At the minute he has over 1000 items listed, hardware is things like Action Replays etc, all the other stuff is games for the different systems. He is starting to list old computers in the next few days though, mentioned to me this morning he is putting a Dreamcast bundle together, he does having other computers though, just takes a bit of time to get stuff listed as he is doing it all himself.

@Dooms, I know what you mean about Prison Architect. Simply too engrossing and the time disapears. I've not played it since they released the update with contraband but noticed they now have guard / sniffer dogs and tunnels!

I stopped playing to allow more content, but might need to open my prison again and check it out.

I've just completed Metro 2033, took a while to get into but it is actually a good game. Now on Limbo for some casual fun before I try and complete Dead Island.

Has anyone played "Papers, Please"? Not sure whether to grab it or not...

Just finished Metro Last Light. I'd assumed it was going to be an open-world game like the Stalker and Fallout series, so when I first started playing it and realised it's an 'on rails' job I was a bit crestfallen.

Having played so many open-world type games in the last couple of years though, I'd forgotten how enjoyable a heavily-scripted linear game could be. When it's executed as well as M:LL, it works brilliantly as it allows for some fantastic action scenes and a rich storyline. I'm really glad I stuck with it now, even if I got the 'bad' ending.

Arma 3 will probably be my next purchase, nearer Christmas time. After that will hopefully be GTA 5 (if the Q1 2014 rumours are true), and then Elite: Dangerous, both of which I'm really looking forward to.
