I've just started playing Battlefield 4, not played much of the Campaign but the MP side is a lot of fun.
Still watching the mrs play through Tomb Raider - is there anything more stressful than watching a girl try and play a game? Although to be fair she's gotten pretty good at it now.
I've just started playing GRID2, very good so far (and not quite the TOCA follow-up that I was expecting).
Not really played Shift to compare (or Grid 1), it's quite NFS/arcade-y in the format so far (working my way through street races..). I was honestly expecting a touring car style game, but it's still been fun so far. The cars handle quite well (nice weight to them, maybe a little slidey).
Graphics and AI are excellent. I'm still early on, I'll update when I get a bit further in. There seem to be loads of sealed copies (for 360) floating around eBay for about a fiver at the moment.
I'll give it a go and see what it's like. I miss the exclusives from xbox since I migrated to PC gaming. No more halo or forza

I've gone back in time and started playing Heroes of Might and Magic 3 (using HoMM3 HD mod) again. Still the best of its type and the HD mod actually makes it decent to look at for such an old game. I've played them all including the buggy HoMM5 and pretty but very flawed Heroes 6.
Dota 2 and Path of Exile
I didn't try it new, I got the Gold edition including both expansions and I found it pretty stable from what I remember, haven't played it for a little while though.
Never played HoMM3 originally, HoMM4 was my first so that may affect my opinion somewhat.
Thought about picking up HoMM3 from GOG when on offer though.
HOMM3+4 for 4.30

EDIT Cheaper on amazon.
HoMM5 was pretty stable about the time Hammers Of Fate (first expansion) came out. Being a huge fan of the series I played it from first day of release so had the "pleasure" of seeing it evolve.
I grabbed the HoMM 1-5 plus expansion set (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Heroes-Of-Mi...gic+collection) before Christmas last year and it has proven so be a great bargain for sub-£10.
I have been waiting to play the dayz standalone for a awhile and after finnally getting the money to buy it I can safely say that with over 50 hours spent in the game, its all I have been playing for the last few weeks
War Thunder - Grinding American
Battlefield 4
Insurgency - Great game if you're into semi-simulation (I am)
All great games. DId have some problems with Battlefield 4 though...
