I've been playing Civilzation in one form or another since the Avalon Hill boardgame and still play Civ VI to this day.
On the MMORPG front I did find myself jumping around from flavour of the month to flavour of the month. The only one I have really stuck with is Eve Online which I have been playing in one shape or another since 2009.
The only types of games that hold more attention span for that long are online competitive multiplayer games. Over the years that includes:

I still dabble with D3 from time to time if certain friends are on...
I do as well with D3, normally single player but load up, do a rift or two and off it goes
