no offence but all u guys b!tch 2 much!! most of u have FAR superior pc's den me yet i can play dis regardless of what silly patch i install... u guys have 6800's and x800's and still having problems with the game?

boi i think your pc's are just mis-configured somewhere along the line...

i only have a 9800 pro, no overclocking, a northwoon 3.2p4 and play dis game wid none of the above bugs u lot have.. how comes? i also notice how much of u have amd processors. aint those processors made for gaming? if so why cant u play bf2 bug free?

is it ur ram dat sucks? well news flash, i have cheap corsair VALUE ram 1gb and runs well on dat if dat can run dis game well, im sure corsair xms can run it even better!!

u guys need 2 stop moaning about bf2. if it dont work on ya pc, just throw it away and go play css.. i've NEVER had a prob wid ANY bf game ever made.. i once ran bfv on a 440 geforce mx 64mb LOL!! wid no probs......

That may be the worst attempt at english I have ever read.
Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
    But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
    I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly, because you tread on my dreams.

So BASICALLY what jonneymendoza is saying is that regardless of whether issues apply to other people, if he hasn't personally experienced them then we should all stop whining (i.e. approaching problems with logic) and continue as if they don't exist..

    Ok jonney

No jonney what you said was that if it doesn't work on anyone else's pc, that person should "throw it away and go play CSS"...

You never actually asked why some people experience bugs, though did you? You just gave them a lengthily reworded "stfu n00bs", which is pretty dull to have to read through tbh.

    And sticking into readable text:

I have heard that you can't even install the patch, the textures are broken, etc...

I don't have these problems on my PC, so why do you experience these problems?
And to answer your last question Jonney.

Not all computers are the same, different driver versions, different Firmware and BIOS revisions (yes these do make an impact) different installed programs, different interrupts, different security patches etc...

In the good old days (sounding old now) games were nowhere near as complex as they are now and game developers had the time to ensure they were fully tested.

But big companies like EA are known for forcing developers to work massive over time, cutting back on testing etc...

This is why most games come out on the PC then goto consoles, you cannot patch a console game, you can patch a PC one.

thanks for translating Dougal - bablefish doesn't have a gibberish setting

in terms of getting older games to work , everyone seems to forget the config.sys and autoexec.bat tweaking need to free up the max base memory for some games ( I seem to remeber cannon fodder was a mare for that ! )

    I'm talking about before that.

Stuff like the BBC Micro and the old 286 systems with the 5" 1/4 floppys.

I still believe that the Jack Nicklaus game i had on my 286 was the best.

true - I remeber the horror of having to download my first patch for a game to actually get it to load ( worms on CD-ROM in about 1995 )

before the web was widely spread , there was no way of distributing patches at all so was Quality controll tighter ?

I also think that hardware specs didn't vary ( more than fitting a multiface or ram extension ) so it was easier to code for 1 design

    Exactly.

The more variables there are in an equation the more things there are to go wrong.

    Simple example.

    x + 1 = 3, x can only be 2, if its not right then it doesn't work.

x * x = 4, x can be 2 or -2, but what if 2 wa sthe only one to get it rght? chance it could be wrong but give the right answer.

There's also more compelx examples (anyone who has done Matrices will know what I mean) where if one thing is slightly off you can get an error exponenetial to it.

Which is the main problem with PCs. How many hardware configurations could there be? Hundreds upon thousands.

Then add in software, BILLIONS of combinations.
