No Steam Logon?

I asked my brother if I could try the game on his PC yesterday, but it was a flat no, which is what I expected really.

I got a reply from my steam support ticket today. They suggested a lot in it, but I'm pretty sure I've tried everything they asked before. They said:

* Make sure my drivers were up to date
* Up date windows
* Try using a different directX version
* Try decreading the graphics settings

All of which I've tried, so they said I should send them a dxdiag report, my log files, some minidump files (never heard of them) and a MSINFO32 Info reports.

Hopefully, from that they might be able to find the problem...

Did you try closing steam, deleting your clientregistry.blob and restarting steam? I have found this fixes a multitude of issues (although I don't know if it will do anything for this one).

That has still not fixed your major issue though has it Switchy.... you ability to hit a barn door with a banjo as it is still as bad as always

I HAD this issue last night and I've got my network setup so my CS Source rig is set within the DMZ so it has all the ports it requires and I had a popup about steam not being able to get secure authentication and then I dropped from the server 1/2 way through a match ( we still won that round! - heh )

I think the underlying issue might be with either some IP's setting up "Data Prioritisation" so UDP gets dropped if too much TCP traffics flowing through their network, or simply a steam issue as we had a few other players dropping and timing out.

Well, I had a reply again. They've analysed the logs I sent them, and it seems I need to try uninstalling some programs, making things not start at startup, and updating my audio drivers. When I'll done all that and if it's still a problem, I'll send them another set of logs for them to check out.

Well, it seems to be fixed. I don't actually know what fixed it, so incase anyone has this problem, I'll show you what steam suggested:

I didn't do all of what was suggested in the bullet points, as I didn't know how for some of them. As far as I know I'm fixed now as I've been playing CS for quite a while today, and haven't had any no steam logons at all.

4 years later, and my Goldeneye source server is giving this error to users constantly. Valve rocks ><

Check your directx version for the game. I think if you right click the game, and go properties, there should be a game parameters section there. Make sure there's nothing in it (I think).

This was annoying me for the last few days whenever I played a game in CS:S. The solution is to goto your account settings and verify your email address. It worked for me!! Good luck all!

I know the fix and its taken a long time to find, it worked for my lil bro so i hope it works for yall.

1st go in game
2nd hit shift and tab at the same time
3rd at the bottom of the screen there should be a thing tht says settings click tht
4th go to the In Game tab
5th uncheck to little box

That should do it but there is also a code u type in consul but i dont have it with me at this moment so wen i get tht ill give it to yall. i hope tht works if not tell me and ill figure it out.
