That would be the ZX81 - the "Speccy" (ZX Spectrum) was the ZX82

Wow, just my kinda thread. For me, in order of ownership, it was:

    1. Grandstand 'Astro Wars' thingy (remember those?)

    2. ZX Spectrum 48k complete with 'Toilet Roll' Thermal Printer and useless Microdrive lol, think I 'upgraded' to a 128k Speccy +2 when Amstrad bought them. The one with the tape deck stuck on the side, 'proper' keyboard and 4 channel sound or something..

    3. Sega Master System

    4. CBM Amiga A600 (still got it, along with about 500 floppies in the loft)

    5. CBM Amiga A1200 with extra Cumana floppy drive.

    6. Commodore CD-32, yes I was the one guy who bought one hehe (Alien Breed with an FMV Intro WOW and remember MICROCOSM? All show, no go)

    7. Panasonic 3DO (Need for Speed started here on this failed system if I remember right)

    8. My first PC - ESCOM Pentium 60, 540MB HDD, 8MB RAM (yes, 8), 512k Trident SVGA GFX, 2 Speed CDROM. Cost me £1400 at the time (1995) eeeek. Windows 3.1. Couldn't stop playing 'Eye of The Beholder over and over, loved it. Doom made me queasy. Loved spending hours try to get games to work, having to make 590k of 'conventional memory' or whatever they called it, using boot disks. Agh, those were the days

    9. Upgraded above PC with new mobo, 233Mz Petium, with MMX! WOW lol.... 4mb 3DFX card and 64mb RAM (I remember that cost something like £300 alone)

    10. SEGA Dreamcast (Still got a couple, along with loads of games, a great "pick up and play for 10 mins" type of system)

    11. XBOX & PS2 but sold them soon after, kept going back to my PC

    12. Many upgrades to PC, ended up with my system shown on the left, which is starting to show its age in some areas again.

Tempted by an XBOX 360, but dunno if I should wait to check out the PS3 or the new Nintendo one, forget what it is called......

Would probably always go back to my PC in the end, they are so versatile....

    Regards, Mark

Microdrives where more fun if you where dabbling with networking with 2 x interface ones... I remember helping set up a couple of networks with this... very advanced in its way (but the Disciple interface was much, much better!)

Amiga A500 (then I put in a 512K upgrade a few years later) Greatest machine ever.
    Amiga CD32
    SNES
    N64
    GameCube
    Gameboy
    Gameboy Advance
    Master System
    Game Gear
    Mega Drive
    Saturn
    Dreamcast
    PSX (Jap import)
    PS2
    XBox

Pentium 133, 32Mb, 1.3Gb HDD, upgraded with a Diamond Monster a year or two later
    Pentium 400, 128Mb, 13Gb HDD, SLI Diamond Monster 2's later a Savage 4 Pro then a Voodoo 5 5500
    Athlon 1000 Thunderbird 256Mb 20Gb GeForce 2
    Athlon XP2000+ 256Mb 20Gb, GeForce 3Ti 200
Dual Athlon MP2000 512Mb registered, 20Gb, with above GeForce
    Dual Athlon MP2800 1024Gb registered, 100Gb, Radeon 9600 Pro 128Mb
    P4 3000 (64 bit 2Mb cache version), 1024Gb DDR2, 160Gb HDD, Radeon X800 GTO (Current)
    Toshiba Satellite A30-921, P4 2.8, 512Mb, 40Gb HDD, 128Mb (shared) Radeon Mobility 9000. (Current)
Intel Celeron 533, 256Mb, 80Gb HDD, 32Mb ATI AIW Rage 128. (In car PC)

PC's are in Chronological order and the A500 was my 1st machine, as for the consoles, most were bought when they came out but a few were bought after newer ones i.e the Master System, just because I didn't have one. Most PC's were latest and greatest except my P4 I have now. I needed a new machine and have given up on the whole needing the latest PC.
