I was under the impression that the maximum for races was 8, but that limit wasn't applicable to the map itself?

The map would be horrendous if that was the case, you wouldn't be able to move. The servers intelligently pick 8 players that match your vehicle class, rank and achievements, it then uses peer to peer connection to communicate with them. There is a maximum of 8 players on your screen at one time, this is obviously in addition to AI traffic.

Just rented a copy out today as im off work, and tbh im glad I didnt spend £50 on it. Its different to most other racers ive played but it just doesnt have that *sparkle* I remember PGR3 had for the first month or so. Its a huge map and its been very well done but everything but the cars looks really "PS2" like, the graphics arent that great.

Im heavily into racers, but I dont think the novelty would lasat very long if I bought it. Two days of playing it then I think ill have had enough (funnily enough coinciding with me returning it back to the rental place!)

    Cheers

How does the game handle finding friends? I remember in the demo me and a mate had TERRIBLE trouble finding each other. Half the time we were on totally different servers

Without a massive stroke of luck, i'd imaging the only way would be to manually find each other. (ie. hosting for one another - if you can do that)

Well I just visited all the car garages so I've got bikes now (took at least 4 hours to drive to them all). Oh the fun of obliterating all the fools who spent $400k on a McLaren SLR on my $30k Ducati.... Racking up the points in Multiplayer mode now as a result.

I'm gonna save up and start the the HEXUS club tommorow... I'll post on here when I've got the $350k required to do so.

Hehe, what do you make of the bikes then mate? There many different ones? The ZX10 on the demo was sweet enough, how much does that set you back in the game?

    cheers,

    Bikes are awesom.

The one thing annoying me at the moment is the fact that I hardly ever get anyone online in my game, its really bizarre, yesterday it'be at 8 people almost constantly today its hardly ever above 2 or 3.

Oh lovely... I've just been playing with someone elses gamertag on test drive due to a bug, I went from having a superbike to having an audi tt, really really messed up. Everyone in the game i was in had different gamertags to what they were actually called.
