ahh come on, for everythin, the game does rock.
Even if it is horrifically addictive.
Please do not message me about Scan Free shipping, I no longer work for HEXUS.net
The official website says you can "find" the McLaren F1 LM in the game, I can't, can anyone that did pre-order? No. It doesn't state that anywhere, and for stating I presume thatsan issue. It also states you can chase car thieves and escape a psychopath, I can't find those missions anywhere.
I honestly don't care about it but it is an issue.
It hasnt grown on me, im just waiting for NHL2K7/2007 so i can put it back in its box.
I love the idea of the game and the presentation, just not the way it drives. Which is a bit of a killer for a driving game.
Have they calmed down yet or are they still giving you grief?
I've initially been told nothing is going to happen, but apparently they are now still looking into it as I may have damaged Ataris worldwide brand.
If they honestly want to proceed I'll be giving them the fight of their life, I doubt they'll do anything simply for the fact that its really not worth their while. I'm intrigued though, having simply stated that they've misdescribed a product on their official website and that I can 't get stuff that it says I can simply because I didn't pre-order (and thats not stated on their site). I put that because of that I could quite happily return it under sales of goods act because its misdescribed, that is libel apparantly.
The definition of libel means that they simply couldn't prosecute me as their website is incorrect, and therefore my statements are not false. Also their moderators can remove the posts at any time, and if it was really that damaging they could have deleted it then and there.
Needless to say I have received threats from mods today about reporting me to my employers because I sent an email to a technical support guy from my work email address, and that makes them liable apparantly. I can almost hear my boss laughing about it now.
Dumb, dumber, Atari.
I wouldn't say they're dumb, I'd just say that its a bit uncalled for when they can simply delete the posts if they don't like them.
I honestly can't see a judge going for the fact I've defaced their brand by pointing out descrepencies (that are actually still on there) on the official sites description of content, and the actual game content.
I don't really need these threats hanging over my head right now, but hey... They've gotta do what they've gotta do.
Just so you can see the extent of how seriously they're taking this:see here
I'd put considering getting into senseless legal fights with your customers down as dumb. I think with TDU being a new genre of game (at least according to Atari) they need to listen to feedback from users and make sure things are going smoothly and remedy problms, not consider sueing people who bring things up. If Atari can't get TDU 360 straightened out by the time the time TDU PC comes out I will be much less likely to buy it.

"I've heard back from the legal department, and they have decided (and I
quote) "No action is to be taken at this time."
In other words, we realise our moderator has been dopey and that the chances of legal action being successful are on a par with whoopie goldbergs chances in this years miss world competition.
I think the PC version will be a marked improvement over the 360 version and as such (since I haven't got it yet...) I have cancelled my X360 version of TDU, but I have ordered the rental copy from gametart. So I'm not completely dismissing it, shame the PC version preorder doesn't get any free cars or anything
