They are only Parent & Child, men can use them to for young children.

I think the confusion comes from the symbol used.

I would park in a pink parking space yes

If I knew that the purpose of that space was for the safety of female drivers then obviously not.

i think the idea of them being extra large is so no pervs can hide next to them and jump out, i think it's a good idea anything that stops women being afraid to go out alone has got to be good

This whole thing does not make sense. If you read the article it says that there is no way to enforce women only parking spaces. What makes me laugh is the article says that these spaces are bigger than the normal ones.

Perhaps they could paint some spaces lime green so that our alien friends can park their saucers or perhaps they could paint some spaces red for those male customers who are drunk and/or high on drugs. Surely these both these spaces would need to be extra, extra wide.

And don't forget extra-wide spaces for fat people in 3-door cars...

Surely of more benefit they could have had some male incentives to park elsewhere? Some lingerie rotating ads right in front of the bay or something. They'd make money too. Win win.

How about parking spaces with an extra FLIPPING line down the middle so that brainless PIMHOLES in their shiny expensive cars park over the line near the store at busy time, thinking that they're parking in two spaces like the filthy, wart ridden weasels that they are...

I would make it a point to park in those spaces - as the women should'nt be getting any special treatment in the first place. If they can't park their car in a normal parking space, they should go back to driving school.

I think it's already been suggested that the extra space isn't just because women have trouble parking vs men (surely giving them a bigger space will tax those spacial skills even more when trying to get it in straight) but to make it harder for would be thiefs and attackers to hide and wait for the women to unlock the car before pouncing.

If thats the case, they should improve security over the entire parking lot. The thieves would probably just switch to attacking men if they thought that there is an increased chance of getting caught by jacking people nearer the improved security side of the parking lot.

Again - why the special treatment for women ? Where are all the feminists ? They should be protesting the special treatment as they are supposed to want equality for women.

Anyway, if it is for increased security, I would probably stay off it.
