    Loan Advertising

Smoking is bad for your health right, they've banned advertising for that.

Could we please start a campaign to make loan advertising for Picture, Ocean Finance, Debt buster and all the other loan companies out there illegal.

Lets start with the fact the adverts are annoying as hell, never mind the fact that the aren't there to help, they are there to rip people off with much higher APR rates.

I think the finance companies should be reigned in a little. They offer £1000s of credit to people who they know may default and put themselves in hardship. I know its there own fault but some just cant see a way out and fall for it. shysters the lot of em.

    "Mum, wheres my scooter?"

"Don't worry its always like that around here!"

    "Ow!"

    "Josh, Dads found your Scooter!"

You would think with the extortionate interest these companies charge they would be able to shoot a quality advert, and not one that feels like fingers on a blackboard!

And Ocean, well don't get me started on them! I woudn't ask them for the time let alone a loan. What a bunch of retards! Do they really think that filming their own inbred staff will get them business? Save the advetising budget Ocean and euthenase the lot of them! Their recruitment policy must stipulate that all applicants must have an extra Y chromosome.

"What is a fixed, variavle rate or tracker?"

Long pause...... Er, shouldnt YOU know that?

Does anyone else think its got as bad as the "Where theres blame theres a claim" deluge from a few years ago?

Finance companies are already very well regulated by the FSA.

The fact that people take out loans with sub prime lenders is more of a product of society to be honest, if you cant finance your lifestyle from your pay, you clearly need to drink less, smoke less or get a better job, not borrow money. No one forces people into it, nor do they hide the APR. THey still arent as bad as those payday loan places, who charge aprs in the 1000% range. Risk based pricing in action

I've not seen it for a while, but I think it was one Ocean Finance advert where a greasy haired moron went on about keeping some of his loan "for a rainy day".

YOU DON'T GET A LOAN OUT IF YOU WANT TO SAVE MONEY! YOU PUT THE MONEY THAT YOU'D HAVE PAID TO THE LOAN INTO A SAVINGS ACCOUNT! THEN YOU'RE GAINING INTEREST RATHER THAN PAYING IT!

    Raaaaaahrrrgh!!

TMF is the worst channel, it has about 10mins of solid loans and insurance adds every 15mins

And yeh, picture loans are probably the worst, they are so unbeleivably false

what really worries me about this, is thar they generally go for home owners.

If you've bought a home, surely you remeber that the mortgage provider you used didn't charge such insaine APR rates?

No action is necessary to get rid of secured loan adverts- trust me, when interest rates rise, house prices start to crash and bad debt levels really go through the roof, nobody will want to lend you money secured against your home any more.

The loan adverts, however, will be raplaced with those adverts that go "Are you a feckless moron who's borrowed more money than you could ever possibly hope to pay back? Nevermind, we can help you walk away from your responsibilities".

I was thinking I hadn't heard from doommeister Rave recently....

But with regards to the second point, it's true. Everybody wants to buy everything they want, and then when reality comes knocking, they want to walk away from it all...twits...
