Best Uni for Computer Science ?

So the time has come for me to start looking at Unis...

I've decided that I'm definitely going to study Computer Science but I have no idea between the BSc and other courses etc. Would like a sandwhich course though.

So can anyone reccomend me some Unis I could look at ?

Just picked up prospectuses (sp?) for Imperial, Durham, Warwick, York and Southampton.

Aberystwyth... Not that I'm Biased or anything.

They offer Standard BSc and BEng and actively encourage Sandwich years if your course doesn't necessarily have one. (BEng it's a required element)

All depends also on what you want to end up doing... No point doing Comp. Sci if you're dead set on being a software engineer.

I'm not certain i'd agree with Tiggerai on that statement, I would say properly research the course as they do vary, some will focus on some things more than others. I certainly think programmers are better if they have a grounding in much broader computer related technology than being purely blinded by programming.

    Just imo of course.

Courses that would interest me would be a sort of well rounded one. Not too much in programming or software, I would also like (if possible) a more Managerial side of computing if possible (that's probably ICT territory though)

But yeah I'll have a brief look through the prospectuses I have to see if any courses cath my eye.

    EDIT:

Had a quick look and I'm not too keen on Graphics/Imaged based courses, AI involved courses or maths related ones

"Current Use of ICT in the Business Industry" is something that sounds interesting in the Warwick Prospectus. As I said before anything to do with more business/managerial skills would be a very nice bonus, don't want to be stuck as a tecchie for all of my life (not that theres anything wrong with that of course )

    Another update:

In the Warwick Prospectus Compute Science (MEng) and Computer Systems (MEng) sounds pretty much what I'm looking for; you study the first two years of the Bsc Computer Science modules but then in year three 25% is based on a core project with Accounting and Finance and in the fourth year 25% on a core group project around project management.

Loughborough's got awesome nights out, at least in my experience this year anyway. There's just the massive problem that it's something like 4:1 boys:girls and and maybe

I've had excellent students from UCL, Loughborough, Bath, Staffordshire, Manchester and Cambridge. That mix 'n' match course from Warwick would not impress me personally.

I though most uni courses were mix and match ? (well for Comp Sci they seem to be :/)

Thanks for UCL, Bath and Staffordshire suggestions tho
