I've seen a few people mention other auction sites, but are they any good? Worse than Fleabay?
Any reccomendations, tips are welcome.
Thanks

I used QXL once, ages ago before EbayUK really took ove - but that was years ago and I couldn't comment on what it's like now. I'd be interested to hear people's opinions of this too.
I've also used Amazon's marketplace, but it's not really an auction, more a classified or "buy it now" section.
My System: Coolermaster Centurion 5 (black) case, Intel E6750 Core2Duo, Tagan Easy-Con 530W, Asus P5B Deluxe WIFI, OCZ 2GB Kit (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 CL 4-4-4-15 PLATINUM XTC, Samsung SpinPoint 200Gb SATA2 / 2 x Maxtor DiamondMax 10 200Gb SATA, 256Mb Sapphire ATI PCI-E X1950PRO, Creative X-Fi Xtreme 7.1, 19" Daewoo W9ZQ Black Widescreen TFT, 4Mb Virgin Cable Broadband (formerly Blueyonder) with Linksys WRT54GL Wireless-G and DD-WRT firmware.
I also used QXL about 8 years ago. Did 1 transaction and it ended up in a dispute where I lost £50. They supposedly had buyers protection but that never materialised after 6 months.
Because of that I would never use again.
Not used any other ones except Yahoo! Auctions now gone. That was pretty good and could have competed with Ebay.
I think that Ebay's position in the market is now so dominant, it would take a major blow for them to see some significant competition any time soon.
yeah i used qxl a few times a LONG time ago, also signed up for ebid but never used it as it was a ghost-town. which is ho i see the majority of them being in comparison to ebay to be honest

stick with Ebay tbh, its where the market is...
I won't be using ebay again since I sold some concert tickets and ebay/paypal made over twice the profit I did with all of their charges
Wait until google opens its auction service
aye, google auctions will pwn, and be cheep too
they are only so high if you put reserves on and buy it nows, i sold a 400 quid pc on there for 3 quid.. cant argue with that.
No point using any other one in my eyes ebay has almost everything
yea i know, if you sell over £100 i think it takes a smaller chunk, but the thing is, whenever you see an item you want, or I want I'll bid a low price and someone will always, ALWAYS bump it higher. but when im selling stuff it never gets bumped to a price i like, so setting a reserve is always good.
ebay is where everyone goes to sell and buy things, emphasis on the buy, if you want to get your product to the widest posible auction, you have to go to ebay to be honest
well im hoping that all soon will change if what sim says is right. googlebay will probably have some special offers to draw new customers anyway.
that sounds good, and i bet they wont charge asmuch either
and if you've looked on ebuyer recently, there's somthing called "google checkout" ....so they already have some kind of money system in the pipeline, ...so goodbye, and goodridance to paypal
yep, i haven't managed to use the google checkout yet. lets hope it still lasts so i can get to use it
