Nope - I spend more time in the bathroom than your average male.

For example, I was getting ready to meet a ladyfriend last weekend and told her on MSN @ 6 I was going to get ready so I'll be in the pub for 8.

I think a restaurant (tiggerai is right, involve her in the decision if possible) and then if it's not a 'school night', perhaps a quiet pub. Not a noisy pre-club pub but somewhere you could get a seat and have a chat.

Dareos - where you going in the town? Sannino's is quite a cosy wee Italian on Bath street or one of the streets parallel to it.

Zizzi is nice, there's two, one in Princes Centre on Buchanan Street and another just off Hope Street or Union Street.

Probably best to avoid something spicy like Mexican or Indian, don't want to scare the laydees off with wind or needing to ruish to the toilet!

Danny, you still aint told me where in Hamilton you are (or did i miss a reply). It looks like i'm double dating on Saturday night, so that will be a joint choice (and give her a chance to escape), but probably in the west end someplace, maybe Balbirs (cos i like it). Or maybe even Roastit Bubbly Jocks (cos i luv it). Either way, its all gonna be about the company, not the food.

Notoriously hard to please?

Fish and Chips for the win then tbh.

Grab a couple of cold bottles of Coke, a healthy Haddock and Chips, twice, and go sit in a park and chat.

Frankly, restaurants are not a great idea for a first date, cos you need to get to knowe each other, not worry about your table manners.

If you have the weather, grab a few nice sandwiches from a supermarket, some kettle chips, some bottles of fruit smoothies and go grab some grass for a picnic. Couple of napkins (kitchen roll), all in a rucksack, and go eat outdoors.

People who are notoriously hard to please normally aint found a real person yet..just found people trying to impress them with money , life style etc.

Now that Zak is, quite literally, the daddy, I'd listen to him. You can hardly take her to Chestington World of Adventures, and at a restaurant you'll be worrying about making a mistake with your soup spoon, unless you are all sophisticated like.

You can get a nice bottle of Veuve Clicquot for about £25-£30 (don't but Red Nun ) and go for a pic-a-nik. Maybe not kitchen roll though... at least pretend you are smoooooooooth.

aye, i know the place, the new estate on the right as you head up the hill, before the road to Quarter. Its pretty much my old stomping ground mate. I had mates from Eddlewood, Fairhill, Silvertonhill, and i spent some time in a flat on Meikle Earnock road. My cousins come from Little Earnock, i went to school at Holy Cross, and got my education in Electronic Experience
