good bacteria? or STD bacteria?
pubs ftw! Went on a pub crawl with a girl for first date. 2nd date was at the pictures, and I'm seeing her again on Thursday
must be newcastle because that is how me and my current gf started seeing each other lol (about 6 months now) met her at northumbria students union on a sat night
hmm mosher....any of the following:
trillians, quinns, HoS, legends, hancock, cluny?
sorry for going OT but was it a uni related pubcrawl?
Nope, Rafferties, Dog and Parrot, the bar next to Digital (forgot what it's called) and Eclipse.
Wasn't a uni related pub crawl either.. I started talking to her online and then BANG! All is good, she's 18 and I'm 21
Italian on a first date. Does noone know The Rules?
young-un/inexperienced newcastle goer! (and im a couple years younger than you )
Rafferties used to be Quinns,I know people (..and I ocassionaly went...) who went when it was still Quinns
(Great jukebox though)
Dog and Parrot....used to be good till it turned a bit indie (camp david is ok for a quiet drink with female mates before digital though)
bar next to digital.....Baron & Baroness I think you mean, or across the road by Switch/loft and stuff?....
Just don't do what i did and go to a Mexican and ask for the really mega hot spicy rice. Then sit there in front of the girl i was trying to impress red faced, sweating with my nose running.
The first date I took my wife on was to see a French film at an art house cinema. She was studying film history at the time though, so that's probably not much use to you.
We did have a good chat in the foyer when we were waiting to go in though (in the course of which I discovered that she was nearly 5 years older than me ).
Aaaanyway, with my OT hat on- I once took a girl I fancied to Yo! Sushi, the original one off Tottenham Court Road (or maybe Charing Cross Road, I forget). For reasons I won't go into I didn't really have a chance with her but it was still a nice date and it's an interesting place to eat. Although I don't know if Yo! Sushi branches are everywhere now making it a bit less interesting.
Second edit: I think the secret of successful first date planning is flexibility: have lots of backup plans. For sure try and find out what she's into and plan around that- but have an idea about what you can do however things turn out. She wants a drink? You know a couple of places nearby. A meal, or a night of dancing? Ditto.
Finally, exhibitions/museums/art galleries are suprisingly underrated date venues IMO. If you're after a relationship rather than a quick shag then you really need to get chatting- and where better to find something to talk about than a museum?
