Still off them, Nicorette sticks are to be advised for anyone who wants to give up, I dont like the idea of patches as I have a feeling that they keep the levels up too high, with the nicotine inhaler you can give yourself a small hit when you need it and it keeps the cigarette craving away. I am finding now that it is all about the state of mind, when you want to give up you can. An added advantage is that my GF is no longer complaining about me tasting like an ashtray and it is paying off

After a night chain smoking on the 16th, I stopped dead on the 17th. I lasted a week, including two trips to the pub (which were hard) before finally succumbing while very drunk and annoyed at about 3am Sunday morning, I had three or four. I've not had one since and I'm not really suffering. I only get cravings when I'm drinking, or when I'm hungry. I've found myself drinking a lot more in the pub though, because my normal routine of puff, puff, drink became drink, drink, drink! At work I got into the habit of using cigs as an appetite suppresant, which was probably a bad idea, so I have a slight craving now as lunchtime approaches.
Anyway good luck to those who are still trying, if you lapse don't think you have failed, keep going!! The only problem for me is that I don't really bump into the friends I made in the smoking room at work any more.

Starting to feel really good about being off the tabs now, will start to sleep better soon and already am not waking up in the morning coughing my guts up.

The best thing is if I try a ciggie now - ugh - horrible
well i am 22 now been smoking since I was 17 ish but last week i thought I would give up. So I had my last ciggie on Saturday just gone and I am still going without a single tab. Lets just hope it stays that way, its been a nightmare as the lasses here at work all smoke and the main entrance stinks of it. Anyone else noticed that when you quit you seem to be able to pick out the smell of smoke from a mile away, or is that just me
Anyway still going with a ciggie, haven't had it to bad I suppose, the first day I was tempted to walk to the shops but resisted Saved myself a bit of cash to, no patches, no silly little gum things or sprays, just quit and have a few extra quid in me pocket at the end of the week

I found the best way to stop smoking was to stop rubbing myself so hard.....
Sorry, couldn't help it - been staring at specification documents all day and it's put me over the edge, plus I've run out of frog pills again!!

After a few false starts.. I've properly hit the trail this week, so I can contribute to this thread again
Day 4 for me, cold turkey. Had a bad day yesterday and nearly succumbed.. but got caught with work, so didn't get time to light up.
As Im completely beyond busy now for the next few weeks, it's a good thing to help the habit beating.
Random thought for anyone reading, smoking and considering.. I saw a shrivelled pair of lungs last Thursday.. partly caused by smoking and partly due a serious heart problem. Scared the living bejeesus out of me

hope it works for ya I must admit I have been glad its been stupidly busy at work for the past few days, it does indeed help you to forget about the ciggies.
