Yep certainly is. I'm now seriously looking at emigrating too. Better quality of life, cheaper, less tax paid, etc etc. (Better footie team most likely too!). I don't see why I should pay for all this PC diversity nonsense.

What is so sad is that the Police service (should be force) could have just turned around and said, "it's a f***ing mascot ffs, sod off" but they were probably too scared of being taken to court for discrimination whereby a lovely judge would fine them. Sigh.

FFS, it is a mascot...some people in this country needs to get REAL. This is where people use PC for all the wrong reasons.

Because people are so completely fed up of the way it is run, the nonsense that goes on (see here), the amount of taxes we pay on our hard earned money, plus we can no longer just do anything these days we have to go through lots of hoops and hurdles... its called red tape and there are reels of it in this country nowadays.

I would like to leave as well, so would a number of people I know. When we get to the stage that a police mascot could be offensive to others then we really have hit a new low in this country. As has been pointed out above, its just a mascot, why should anyone be offended by it in it's current form? The point is the government seems more concerned about making foreigners and ethic minorities happy in this country than actually thinking about and putting the British people first.

TBH I believe that the majority of policepeople are offensive due to their white skin and maleness.

I hereby suggest that all white, male policepersons be rounded up and subjected to intense cosmetic alteration to darken their skin and reduce their manliness, and that the Nightstick be replaced by a pink feather duster to prevent the promotion of violence as a soloution to problems.

The funny thing about this is - I don't hear people wanting to leave the country when they talk about the Government personal data cockup...but i always hear people wanting to leave the country about this weird PC stuff - must be something to do with foreigners and ethic minorities i guess...

or maybe this weird PC stuff is always like the arab's saying "the straw that broke the camel's back" (as per Buzzlad's post)... other stuff is just one of the many other straws...

I would have thought it was the other way around but oh well...

    I hear that!

What a complete joke. Nice use of £15,000 worth of tax payers money right there. The fact they say it's isn't PC shows they're racist because it bothers them that the mascot is 'too white and male' in the first place.

    I hate this <beeping> country.

Also, why out of three mascots are there TWO women. Thats not right. There should be equal numbers of every race and gender. Lets have mascots that would fill up wembley. Morons.

The part that shocks me most about this is how it's costing them £15,000 to make three new characters. Anyone ever heard of paper mache and a classroom of kids? Free labour too.

Definitely!! the police should use their brains and get schools to do this - then the mascot is going to look like the people my kid draws and i can assure you that no one will or can complain!

Re: Does political correctness make you angry?

I am an ethnic minority (but born here) and soon to be higher rate tax payer (from July 08)... I like this country and I honestly can't think of anywhere else I would like to live and work... Actually maybe New York - but then again I would say that the US has its own, bigger problems. I am happy paying the tax levels that I will be paying, because I believe that its needed. There is a lot of people (not meaning you guys) who complain about too much taxes and not enough spending on healthcare and education. What a contradiction!!! There will always be inefficiencies in the system, money lost for nothing really - just like in this example; but I reckon that is a small price to pay for living here.

TBH, IMO the over reaction that I am seeing here is more shocking!

With due respect Sim, if you were born and raised here and have systematically seen everything you value slowly crushed and ruined, you'd feel the same.

This could have been about anything, it's literally one more kick in the face. My statement of "I'm leaving the Country" wasn't decided by this This just empathises WHY people are flooding out.

    Merry Seasonal Greetings.

They are planning to leave anyways, so don't worry about it

Actually, its good that they are leaving, they might as well tell those people complaining about the mascot to leave as well - They are as weird as those people (One overreacts about a mascot, the other overreacts and wants to leave the country!)

I was born and raised here too! I'm only 21 though...

Sorry, I don't mean to offend everyone, just giving my opinion...

And of course I knew no one was leaving the country just because of this...

Really? I don't see people talking about leaving the country when our government royally cocked up with our own data!...

But here, some mascot PC weird stuff and already at least 5 people are planning to leave...!

Somehow, people can tolerate high crime, high taxes, high living costs, fake PSB programes, muppet governments but then a PC mascot thing comes up, and everyone is queuing to leave the Queen's country...

You are right, it is the straw that broke the camel's back...not the tonnes of concrete it is carrying...
