That's the whole point though; it’s about differentiating between genuine mistakes and laziness.
Everyone knows that a sentence starts with a capital letter, therefore, whenever you just write an entire post in lowercase, you are not making a genuine mistake, you are effectively saying 'I can't be bothered to type this properly, just read it as best you can.'
It’s lazy and arrogant. You expect people to read and respond to your message, but can't be bothered to spend an extra 1\4 of a second, to press Shift or Caps Lock, and start a sentence with a capital letter.
Exactly the same with text speak; how much time do you actually save by typing 'u' instead of 'you'? Not that much time really, is it, even for the less able typists? Add in the 'it makes you look like a complete fool' factor, and it can't be worth it, surly?
We are not 12 years old, hanging around outside a bus garage with our mates, composing 'l33t texts' to each other, so surly we can all start a sentence with a capital letter, end one with a full stop, and type 'you' instead of 'u'.
Am I being unreasonable?
