This is the error (verbatim) that I receive when I try to have windows install the drivers (via plug and play or through device manager):

Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device

Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it

    USB Browser Mouse

An error occurred during the installation of the device:

The driver installation file for this device is missing a necessary entry. This may be because the INF was written for Windows 95 or later. Contact your hardware vendor.

If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit its website and check the support section for driver software.

try emailing dell tech support (bleugh) and ask if they can point you in the right direction.

When I tried to access that part of their website it makes you enter a serial code of the product you are trying to troubleshoot. I tried entering the S/N on the back of the mouse but it said it was invalid... so I can't get through to them. Is their e-mail support@dell.com?

I do appreciate all the help you're trying to give!

    Thank you very much!

erm im not actually sure on this one because i was also wondering if the mouse had a serial code of that format....

i'm not sure what the email address is, but..... do you have any other dell products that you could put the number in for just to get to the next stage?, and then ask for the email to be forwarded to the relevant department

or try getting in via customer service........ HERE try and put randoms for the order number (if it will let you)

your only other option is to give them a ring

I actually did that latter part already, but I have heard no response. As far as any other dell products? No, I can't say that I do... I should call them though... I think will.

    thanks!
