    Strangest thing you have eaten

I have just been watching one of jeremy clarkson's many shows.

In which he eats what is essentially a fattened Sparrow.

The birds are caught, are fattened up in a dark box, then drowned in booze and finally cooked.

Strangest part being that you have to eat the thing whole, bones and all in one mouth full.

Not seeing that catching on at McDonalds!

So what is the strangest thing you have eaten????

That sounds like Gary and pounded Yams.

What was the sauce or soup like? Some times its a kind of yellow and green colour and very peppery, others it's more orangy brown and kind of sticky/stringy.

Horrible horrible stuff, makes me want to barf when I smell it some times.

As for the strangest thing I've eaten, well I'm not too sure. I've had reindeer and elk in Norway and (i think) pidgeon in Egypt. Athough neither of them are particularly strange. I think if you were to ask some poeple at work, most of what I eat is strange. While they are tucking into a McDonalds of something from the nearest bakers/burger van, I'll have a pitta sandwich with humous, chorizo, avocado or perhaps falafal, olives and salad... or something like that anyway. Our receptionist admitted once that the only thing she understood after i can off the ingredients was the salad part, and even then "it looks funny", that'll be the rocket, spinach and water cress then.

    Wikipaedia is your friend

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miracle_fruit

Our church has some African members and they put on an evening of singing and dancing followed by some traditional African food including chicken gizzards and some type of deep fried caterpillar among many other very strange things.

The chicken gizzards weren't too bad but I'm here to tell you that caterpillars are now firmly OFF the menu in the Swallocks household. Very nasty indeed. I no longer wonder why there are very few African restaurants in this country.

Also, when I was a field service engineer I regularly used to breakfast on curry pot noodles and a bottle of strawberry milk. It was working on the basis that if I started the day like that it was unlikely to get any worse.

    Oh, just remembered.#

At a Brazilian restaurant in London I had BBQed chicken hearts. Not bad actually. Little bit chewy, and tasted a bit like liver.

Yes! that was it. it was the soup type...yea, everytime i had some, it was vomit inducing. plus i had been drinking heavily that night so everything was reversing even more.

i guess it not a strange thing as such, but for me it was as i had no idea really what was in it.

The strangest thing I've eaten? Well, part-eaten, actually. I had a burger from ..... well, I'd better not name the place, but suffice it to say that if the contents of that burger had ever been anywhere near a cow, it probably got that tough and chewy from all the exercise it got fleeing from dinosaurs.
