Oh go on then.
It's here
Oh, and how do gameon deal with laptops, as I'd consider bringing mine to enable irc etc when in game?

Well, you only get one cable access per person. Whether you'll be allowed to stick a switch on the end of that and use multiple computers I'm not sure. Depends how they have the server configured I guess. I'm sure Plat could (and will) tell you more.
Do they have a wireless lan like the i Series?
It would literally be for the IRC side, or is it not worth it?
The internet isn't brilliant there anyway... up to you really
Sorry tigs, from what I read of the i Series lans, there was an IRC channel run internally with details of matches etc. I assumed something similar would happen at GameOn?
Oh, and how strict are they on the no wireless device rule? Is my MX1000 going to be a problem?
if you ask olly nicely he'll do another run if you need it. he offered me it last time . there is wireless there but it is separate of the rest of the network but it does offer internet if you need it.
I don't think there were any problems with wireless devices last time. As for the IRC with match details, sounds like a great idea. I don't recall seeing anything like that last time (it was mainly shouting across the room). But then, there were only 40 people, so organising it probably doesn't really need it I suppose.
we could do with getting some kind of voice chatty thing going between us. tis difficult to hear the person next to you when bullets are whizzin

Yeah guys, to re-iterate Ducky's point... if you want to come and are just waiting on payday etc, get your place booked and pay later. YOu don't wanna miss out and it looks like this one will fill up quick. But please pay as soon as you are able as your seat is not secured until you do...
At the I-series there is one/several IRC rooms usually buzzing with activity but with 1500+ shouting across the room would be somewhat difficult!
I didnt see/take notice before but where there any Teamspeak servers running/can we get any running, cause that would solve our voice/comms problem.
Dave: *Edit* I stand corrected see below.
Ok found this in the gameon site best practices bit.
Pre-Carriage
We've all done it. We have left the house, got a few miles from the house and realised we have forgotten something. GameOn will have very limited resources available, and so to help, we have constructed a checklist for you to go by as you get your equipment ready.
1. PC Base unit (Obviously you wont forget this)
2. Monitor
3. Keyboard and Mouse (Please make sure these are NOT wireless, as they can interfere with other wireless devices at the events)
4. Headphones (GameOn does not allow speakers to be used at the LAN)
5. Power Cables
6. 4 Way Gang Sockets (At least 2 if you have a lot of equipment and it is also recommended that they are certified surge protectors)
7. Sleeping bag and accessories (deodorant, toothbrush etc).
8. Food and drinks
9. Labels (It is extremely recommended that you label ALL your equipment, so that nothing is missing or taken by mistake when packing up)
10. CD's, Floppies etc. (Operating system/drivers/game CD's)
11. Money for food and offsite shopping)
