I kinda wish I hadn't read that. Each time I think I think I've finally got a handle on just how low a human being can sink, something crops up where someone manages to top it.
Having said that, one bit that makes me feel a bit uncomfortable (instead of nauseas, which is how the crime makes me feel) is ...
Bearing in mind that this is a death penalty case, I can't help but feel a bit uneasy about that. It makes me wonder, firstly, what the quid pro quo for the testimony was? And secondly, it could be pretty damning evidence, but by definition, it pretty much has to be unsubstantiated.Her cellmate told the court that Arnold confessed to .....
I mean, it seems to me that in any trial, if you're going to have evidence of what was said, that the credibility of the witness is critical to the value of the evidence, unless it's been recorded and that doesn't seem likely in the context of a jail cell. So, if it's unsubstantiated evidence of what was said, and it depends on credibility, well ..... a cellmate? Hmmm.
From the way they word it, it seems they are only considering what the cellmate said because it states the reason she did it rather than evidence that she did do it.
If they are basing any sort of decision on that I would be very suprised.

Anyone hear about how some 10 year old kid killed his best friend because he robbed some gold off his mmorpg account. Then tried to hide the body in a cuboard above the stairs, but it was too heavy so he hack sawed the leg off. Then his parents came home right after sawing both legs off...
