    Re: cheapest car insurance

I went with virgin they give me a really good offer plus they dont charge interest if you want to pay in full, just don't use swiftcover they are terrible, tried to tell me that i'd lose a yrs no claims if i claimed for my cracked windscreen and try going in to the post office with one of there crappy letters to get a tax disc, the tax office point blank refused me!

If you find a reasonable offer go through quidco and see if you can some of money back.

Tescos quote went from £450 for me to £1150 to the next year. For no reason! Their reason was because its "on the system" Complete joke of a company

    Re: cheapest car insurance

2yrs ago i got a 1.8 1994 Vauxhall Astra Sport and the insurance with Kwik fit insurance was £750 (third party fire & theft). Then last year when it was time to renew they wanted £800 so I went with Privilege who offered insurance for £500 (third party fire & theft). Got a call last week from Kwik Fit asking if they could give me a new quote. So i said ok give me your best price.............. £900!!!!!! I started laughing and went on to tell them that for the next years insurance Privilege would offer the insurance for £450!!! I mean what is with these people?

Oh and i'm 23 so not in the best insurance bracket. But i don't have any points, have made no claims and so have 2yrs no claims.

Yep. I could understand if I had a crash or got some points, but nothing. No reason other than its come up on the system like that, so thats what I'll need to pay.

    Re: cheapest car insurance

I'd definitely spend a few bob more and get one with courtesy car cover, especially if you use it for getting to work or anything else important.

My missus has developed a nasty habit of reversing into stuff lately, and the car is always away for aaaaaages. Bloody modern colour-coded bumpers! Bah!

Insures rely on people not challenging their renewal statement/offer, so before you cancel why not ring your current insurer and tell them your not happy and as much as you don't want to leave them, you can get it cheaper elsewhere, who and how much, they may match or beat it. They're all looking to keep 'good' business ie no claims(yet) and you pay.

My bike insure for 2 years running have reduced their written quote by 40% with 1 phone call when challenged.

You've nothing to loose and it could work out cheaper.

    Re: cheapest car insurance

Well i'm gob smacked!!! Just phoned up Privilege to take up the renewal offer of £450 and to my surprise i get a free courtesy car I only have the third party fire and theft policy- I'm well chuffed.

Went to get my new car tax today (damn government putting my tax up ****) And was pounced on by a post office person to get a car quote with them. So i did just to see if they would be cheaper............... HAHAHAHHA £860 they wanted lol

Best thing is i'm only 23 (so still in that so called boy racer box) and drive a Vauxhall Astra Sport 1.6v. Just hope that when i need to renew next year I get a good deal again
