Deleted an important e-mail from Hotmail...

In short i was sent an e-mail i didnt think i would need (inc a picture), which i deleted & then cleared my deleted folder.

is there anyway i can recover the e-mail or the picture?

    thanks guys

edit: This was in internet explorer, going through my history i can get back to the e-mail title & subject in the folder, but the minute i click on it it tells me the e-mail has moved.

Doesn't hotmail use an Exchange front end.. If you login through browser to hotmail I believe there is an option to recover recently deleted items (at least there is in Exchange). Might have to be quick though, otherwise you're probably out of luck

Edit: In exchange, you can do this via the 'Options' menu. Does hotmail have a similar menu?

Re: Deleted an important e-mail from Hotmail...

What about in the temp internet files? Iv had a quick look through there, but not had much luck. The picture was an attachment but i didnt actually download it, hotmail opened it automatically in the page of the e-mail. Could that picture have saved it to my computer somewhere?

Re: Deleted an important e-mail from Hotmail...

This is the reason I have over 20,000 emails still Although they're stored on my HDD, so there's no issues with space.

As far as getting your email back, pretty sure they're gone for good, I use the exchange web interface that Kimo was talking about for my uni email, and the option for recovering deleted items isn't in hotmail.

Re: Deleted an important e-mail from Hotmail...

Exchange is a corporate email server, so the suggestion of using an exchange frontend isn't very helpful.

Unless there is a way to contact the Hotmail admins and get them to undelete a single email (assuming they have a way to do this) is your only option. It's called 'delete' for a reason

Wasn't suggesting he did. I purely meant the option to recover deleted items is available in exchange, and that from memory Hotmail used an exchange front end (which it turns out it does) and therefore the option to recover may also be available there. Unfortunately it's a slightly tweeked front end and the option isn't available (at least not on the free version, your not using the paid for version are you Andehh?)

If you didn't open the attachment, I doubt it will have downloaded locally. Always worth a search though, do you remember the filename or part of it? If you do, try chucking it in windows search (make sure you select the additional options to search in hidden folders) and see what comes up, you may get lucky.
