My mum used the word "cyberspace" in an email yesterday.

She recieved a very stern warning never to use that word in front of me again.

My elderly supervisor (college) consistently referred to Firefox as Firebox.

Gran's are (or were in my case) ace for this sort of thing... mine's classic was watching Star Wars as a kid... "oh there's that Daft Ada"

My Dad calls Internet Explorer "Google" because that's what it says when it opens up (it's the homepage).

My entire office is forced (by me) to use Firefox - We get all sorts of names for it, Mozzarella/Godzilla being the most popular. "Thundercat" for emails is another favourite.

We shifted from DOS floppy boots with Word Perfect to Win95 and computers with a mouse back in '95. Our ageing receptionist-cum-typist rang me to tell me the "mouse" was working backwards and trying to get it to click on the OK box was taking her ages.

When I got down to her desk she had the mouse upside down and was rolling the ball with her finger

I find it hard not to cry or bang my head when you ask people to type things into the address bar and then they've gone and typed it into google.

Oh and I had 1 person asking where all his mp3 files had gone. He'd only had a DVD full of them, took the DVD out and magically thought that they'd still be there

Yup, I get "The internet's disappeared!" or "The internet's gone!" . . . though I cringe at the "Where is the internets?"

Bizzarely mum still doesn't get the concept of google search, or any search engine for that matter, but is a whizz with Google Maps (yes, I know it's a search engine!)
