The only real difference is how much of a big deal everyone's making out of it

    Advertisement strategy from corsair?

So those of you who guessed that you can unscrew the top fins and remove them were on the right track. We're not announcing anything specific around this yet, although you should start to see something related to it pretty soon.

The new cooler is called DHX+ and works in the same way as DHX, i.e. cooling both the face of the ICs and the heat from the rear of the ICs via the BGA leads into the PCB. It's a simpler design than the original DHX too, so easier to make. I think it looks better too, but I may be biased

Well, I've not told them everything

I suppose this counts as a Hexus exclusive though...

Okay, i joined this site just to see if this can be solved. Now the fact is that corsair will not let the user remove the side heat-sinks off the unit so ideas about removing the sinks etc to add more thermal paste i assume are incorrect. Now the smart thing to do would be to instead of having dual fins (as the old dominators have) would be to have 1 set do the same job as 2 (as you can see the current fins cover both heat-paths) so this does lead us to believe that we could add some kind water block on top, but watercooling is a pane in the arse as this leads as seen in the OCZ flexx to like 40 barbs and who wants that. From what i can make from all of this would either be some kind of heat-spreader over all of the memory sticks at once that is adjustable for multiple widths of slots (or water solution) that reduces the number of barbs from 6 x 2 to only just 2.. maybe corsair are bringing out there own patented dedicated water cooling solution for just memory and this is the method of mounting the waterblock

    who knows, ill keen thinking

Re: So Corsair launch new modules...

Well, i'm going to stay now obviously

My guess was pretty close, i didn't realize it was going to be a thermo electric

So will the holes in the TEC just be channels and not fixed positions, allowing for variable distance of memory slots on some boards?

Dominator OC, however in this case it would mean overcompensation
