Ive been a big TG fan for many years but yesterdays episode was a load of tosh. Its such a shame that instead of having a program based around cars with some mild tomfoolery and general dicking about, is now a show about tomfoolery and dicking about with a few car reviews chucked in.
Top gear was at its best when the cars were the focal point, the centre of the attention. If the rest of the series is like last nights episode im afraid I wont be tuning in. Instead ill watch the sequin clad wannabes.

Give it a chance. I agree though. More car stuff with foolery. The every so often do the feature things like the lorries.
Last night's TG was entertaining but what was the point of the Lorry segment? "Truck drifting...ooo new!!"...not. As Chriswood 7 rightly points out, it's just tomfoolery...
As long as they get back to the main focal point, cars, then I'll keep watching but I can't help but feel sorely let down by the first episode.
Yeah, wimmins watch Top Gear.
Mostly for Richard Hammond I'm told.
Oh yeah - that sounds positively thrilling.Originally Posted by The BBC's article that Stewart posted
Reminds me of the episode of The Simpsons where Marge writes Itchy and Scratchy!
Anyway, that was 2006, so that's obviously been ignored
if top gear was just about cars they would lose most of their viewers.
Haha, brilliant.
A TV show where Aled Jones pootles around the streets of Norwich in a disability scooter.
Thats some good TV right there.
top gear is good, last night was a bit naff, but the rest of the series looks good
fromthat short video, i get the feeling they buy some old british cars again
and that they drive across america in muscle cars, which does sound rather good
I'm not a fan of the new format, it seems more a family entertainment show than a car show.
I would prefer that they had more reviews and tests and less of the messing about!
Having said that, last years trip to France was pretty damn cool!
why has it been removed from the BBC iPlayer?
