    ?

Still, it's good to see a new member of the forums

Personally i have nothing against OCUK having never dealt with them, but i am genuinely amazed this thread hasn't been locked due to abuse. There's a big difference between working for a company and being a customer. Say you're in packaging, you get all the stock out with perfect timing every time. Why should you be blamed because the company has a history of poor customer service? The way i see it, blame the departments - not the people. If it pays the bills, it pays the bills.. if you enjoy the people you work with then why get knocked down about it?

Maybe this thread should be closed now. Everyone knows the story. Just going around in circles now.

I agree, a bit over the top. Just cause he used to work for OcUK and was a Forum mod there doesnt mean anything. He had to obey company rules etc. Gee, i hate some of the mods on there but if they came on here i wouldn't be harsh with them.

Well to be fair, has he actually posted in any other threads? other than the couple that he made to advertise himself (which he has done on more than one forum)...

We will see if he sticks around and becomes a useful member...

it is a bit harsh, but i can see it happening tbh.
he'll be here for a few weeks, big up Novatech until he bursts, then we won't hear from him again.

i do hope he stays and becomes one of the treasured members of Hexus though

Re: I have departed OcUK - So am I welcome here?

    there is no reason that

    1. as sim says, he hasn't yet done anything except advertise himself

but. 2. more importantly, if he actually cared, he could have been a member here for years just using a name other than gibbo.

OcUK forums etc have a bad rep everywhere as we all know. Some of the mods would have been in the Hitler-Youth in times gone by!! lol

Re: I have departed OcUK - So am I welcome here?

Don't take offense to this but,

I'm sure there are many others who post here who have worked for companies like OCUK, and have switched between jobs to other companies within the industry, i'm also sure some of those people probably earn more, and the companies involved probably turn over more, but you don't see these people making forum threads about it. I know if i was in this situation unless i was already an active poster on all of these said forums, i wouldn't post about my personal life in regards to current work issues for everyone to discuss.

On that note i don't really understand the point of these threads.

And ps like i said don't take offense, i'm just thinking out allowed, perhaps someone could explain

All that aside, Hexus is a community, where all are welcomed with open arms, be it whatever history they had in this industry/scene

pps this will be my longest post of 2009.

I would question my working for a company, and i would take action against them, if they discriminated against my employment because of membership to a forum. In a case like this, it just seems petty. It's not my business what goes on behind OCUK's doors, but banning someone on a forum (where shop talk is a banned anyway) in case they might steal away customers is laughable. Imagine if Scan started moaning at YoYo tech for stealing customers or vice versa.

Doubt that would have worked though, it would have gotten out eventually.
