    That's the thing with wikipedia - you don't determine who is going to contribute beforehand. If you have an idea for a worthwhile article then just start it. The grand conglomerate of the internet will then come in and add/improve it.

    TAKTAK as he said, has a good template on the above thread
    |Kata: "Read title as 'fisting'. Not sure why I clicked. Relieved, really."|
    |TAKTAK: "It was so small that mine wouldn't fit into it"|

    Re: Hexus Wiki

    A local install would be good for a knowledgebase, and might help answering some of the "obvious" questions that are always asked, as well as providing guides that are updated frequently. But the problem comes in who needs to go about installing it, does it need extra staff time to maintain, is it going to cost more bandwidth and so on - feasible but something that should be put in suggestions i think.

    The wikipedia entry shouldn't be too difficult, it just needs to be a brief but concise rundown of Hexus as a company and as a site rather than anything else

    TAKTAKs is a good base, but i think the community entry is still a bit too "blowing our own trumpet"

    Ok taking TAKTAKs layout.

    ==History==

    ==Hardware Reviews==

    ==Games Reviews==

    ==care@HEXUS==
    care@HEXUS allows manufacturers to have support forum within the main HEXUS.community forum, this allows companies to be “more visible” to the consumers and serves as an active support line, which is moderated by the companies themselves

    Current users of the scheme:
    * Universal Abit
    * Corsair
    * ATi
    * Scan computers
    * YOYOtech
    * Thecus

    ==HEXUS.community==
    HEXUS.community is a family forum that covers a variety of topics in life, from politics to cooking, the main focus of HEXUS.community is on technological items (keeping in touch with the website content).
    Also HEXUS allows it's users to respond to every story it produces whether it be games reviews or interviews on HEXUS.tv via HEXUS.right2reply

    Taken TAKTAKs and butchered all the WIKI code out of it.

    But yes, that looks like a good layout, and place to start.

    So, if we follow the above and use other decent wiki's as guides, then I think we will have a pretty decent wiki.

    I know it might be abit quick of the mark, but would it be possible if we had a Hexus.wiki section on the forums? That way if people feel something should be added, or changed, instead of creating topics in another section, the wiki has its own section, making it easier to find things and not miss them.

    TAKTAK, you willing to work on this with me bud? You have my msn also, so not like you have an excuse for not talking to me

    That's that the wiki discussion page is for - it's built into wikipedia.

    I'd consider cutting the hardware and game reviews sections, unless there is something special you want to say about the way Hexus does them, otherwise looks good.

    Re: Hexus Wiki

    I see your point Kalniel, but I think having something directly controlable/ editable by members of hexus and giving us somewhere to post stuff for review before posting, will be better for us.

    Re: Hexus Wiki

    Hexus.net is one of the largest UK based technology websites, it provides daily news updates and a variety of technology related articles. The site is arranged by category using the Hexus.[category] moniker.

    ==History==
    <I honestly have no idea about this, i think a staff member would better off filling us in!>

    ==Articles==
    Hexus regularly publish articles in a variety of, generally technical, topics. Longstanding features of the site include Hexus.gaming and Hexus.lifestyle. The content published on Hexus.net includes news, reviews, guides, interviews and industry tradeshow coverage. More recently a video section (Hexus.tv) was added to the site, streaming interviews as well as trailers for upcoming hardware and games. In January 2008, Hexus.channel was created, providing readers with more business orientated news, such as stocks/shares analysis.

    ==Hexus.trust==
    To help users make more informed decisions about purchasing computer equipment online, Hexus.trust employs a 5 star rating system for retailers. Registered users can rate and discuss their experience with companies, the details of which are stored for anyone to view. For the community, Hexus.marketplace users may rate each other after buying/selling items through the forum.

    ==HEXUS.community==
    HEXUS.community is a self-proclaimed family forum with slightly under 50,000 members and around 1.5 million posts. Whilst primarily intended to be a technology discussion forum, there are a wide range of sub-forums catering to different users needs - including cookery and photography. Users can also sell their unwanted equipment via a marketplace and there are a number of dedicated retail forums (see care@Hexus).

    In addition to this, articles posted on the main webpage are posted in the relevant forum sections for ease of discussion.

    ==care@HEXUS==
    care@HEXUS allows manufacturers to have support forum within the main HEXUS.community forum, this allows companies to be “more visible” to the consumers and serves as an active support line, which is moderated by the companies themselves.

    Current users of the scheme:
    * Universal Abit

    ==History==
    I believe it started on a P200 that lived under DR's desk when he worked at an ISP. I also believe he still has this box.

    hexus.tv went live at the end of 2006 or early 2007. Not long after the first social meet.

    Not a great help i know, but thats about all i can think of right now.

    Oh, MD is no longer staff, PD Hexus is a director too.

    Each of the website sections is a different company, search Companies House for info - http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/info
