Look at the background of the person who is doing the reporting and in many cases you can see clear conflicts of interest. Also when such people sing the praises of one side over the other even though that very side have done horrible things themselves. When they fail to ask one side the strong questions they should be also asking the others. Also when they expect other countries to do things which we would never do ourselves if we were in a state of conflict. Ever hear how very few of these chaps complain about the collateral damage that we and our allies incur in other countries during wars?? How come it is considered murder in one case and a mistake in the other despite the fact we have a huge technological advantage over other countries and better training and it still happens??

The rules should be the same for all. This is unbiased reporting.

Perhaps, but even if it is, it still begs the question .... is it actually a political bias, or a commercial one in supplying what the punter wants to read?

Look at the history of the reporter and it can tell you a lot. Also the average person knows very little about countries outside Europe and the US so their view of these countries is not shaped by personal convictions but what they read from the media.

An example would be the fact many people here know of internet censorship in China but how many would know about what is happening in Australia??

What about Phorm in this country?? Does the average person even have a clue about it??

The average person does not read the register do they??

The only people I know who have even heard of the register are nerds, geeks and people who have an interest in those sorts of things.

I know plenty of people who would not even be able to name one single tech tabloid or tech site.

Most of the people who use BT don't even know what Phorm does or what the dangers are. They would think e-mail is outlook or hotmail or that internet is IE or perhaps Firefox. For many people a computer is Windows or a Mac.

How would you like if a person from a particular country(and yes their entire race) had been accused more than once of being murderers, racists in their countriy of origin etc due to sensationalist rubbish being spouted from various papers in this country(nothing to do with religion, immigration or the Middle East BTW). Not only was this person I knew very hurt but also angry that people should pass judgement on them due to lopsided reporting here which gave that unfair impression of an entire race.

turn it around and ask how i would like it if it happened to me in some way, not that i dont care about what you say but it is all very vague and relies a lot on people wanting to keep identity while being disassociated.. which, you know..

Not asking you to do anything. However the examples you state don't infer any hate. Stereotypes which promote hate have lead to some of the worst atrocities in history. That is why I cannot stand reporters who spin personal bias into supposed non-biased reporting for very sensitive issues.

How do you feel about Al Jazeera or ITAR-TASS??

How do you feel about this:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2009/10/05/bu...al/05yuan.html

Would you believe anything they would say(especially about Europe and the US) and why or why not??
