Who else is getting the virus e-mail from DHL ?

I keep getting an e-mail from DHL with a Virus in it. I keep getting it every couple of days, just wondering if there was anyone else here that was in the same boat as me ?

I don't think I've ever used DHL for anything.

I've contacted DHL and they don't seem all that fussed, they just told me to delete it and any other further instance of it if my antivirus software was picking up the virus and they "would look into it"

What does the email header say about the sender?

I'll have to have another look at the next one when I get one because at the moment I've deleted them all from my PC and laptop.

Been getting them for months. Just delete them. I sent a couple to DHL saying that someone was pretending to be them but I had no response; guess they weren't interested.

I've had them from time to time, they are the same as the HMRC ones, FedEx ones, UPS....

Just spam with a virus attached.

I get these all the time! Really obvious emails though.. saying something like my package wasn't delivered due to them having the wrong address; yet they somehow got one of my email addresses I never give out!

As said just mark them as spam/filter them.

AS above - it won't be from DHL - just a standard random spam attack, with (presumably) some trojan attached to allow a bot master to control your computer, or some form of data logger. (usernames, passwords etc)

Forward them straight to DHL's customer service? Bet it'd get their attention after a few of their PCs get infected?

Or more likely it would never reach anyone since it would get detected by their mail server and deleted. Could send a copy of the email without the virus, but there's not a lot they can do about it since it's not actually coming from them.

A lot of large companies use this kind of address so you can notify them of spammers abusing their name.

A chap at work got one of these emails too, he opened it and got infected as a result, not something I'd heard about but I s'pose this kinda' thing goes on all the time!

Well you can mitigate against it - an AV scanner that scans incoming mail; something like spam-assassin that does a similar job, but more wide reaching.

If you don't want the faff of running that yourself, look to see if your ISP and/or your e mail service provider have similar controls built in, and tweak the filters (if you can) on the mail server.

A lot depends on the facilities the e mail service offers. You will need to investigate it yourself.

Getting a couple of these a week to my work email account, all our email addresses are name@company.com so its easy to get on a list. I never use my work email for private stuff, its not used on any forums etc. A few years back I started receiving compalints that I had been sending trojan containing emails, asked the tec support bods and they said that you can put any name you want inthe from field of an email.

yeah im getting them to my Hotmail. they go straight to junk and its really obvious that they are fake e-mails. They are plain text and about 3 lines of text with an attachment and the date they state the so called 'failed delivery' is on was like a month ago. The Hotmail antivirus picks it up though.
